I’d love to see a crossover between the tabletop community and gender critical movement being a female tabletop gamer myself who’s sick of the tranny and genderspecial incursion into the hobby. Would make for an interesting discussion and the resulting shitshow would be entertaining.I won't invite a transexual to my game. I don't care who you sleep with, what color your skin color is, who you pray to , and what you do for a living . I will not accept any mentally ill people to my table and any found to be of mental difficency can go fuck off and find their own game somewhere else. If you want to play dress up that's fine, do it on your own time. My house, my game, my rules. Don't like it? Fuck off to Roll20 and do your game that way disruptive nutjobs.
Give it about another decade, either the trans gestapo will have taken over or the crossover of all our dreams will happen. If you don't mind sharing, what sorts of shit have you had to deal with from the troons, and is it worse than when the creepy nerd fucks kept requesting pictures of your feet?I’d love to see a crossover between the tabletop community and gender critical movement being a female tabletop gamer myself who’s sick of the tranny and genderspecial incursion into the hobby. It would make the hobby a thousand times worse and wouldn't do anything to remove the troons. Just like it hasn't in the rest of the places they've invaded.I’d love to see a crossover between the tabletop community and gender critical movement being a female tabletop gamer myself who’s sick of the tranny and genderspecial incursion into the hobby. Well, it'll get worse before it gets better, but my hope will be the troons and gender crits will be too busy slapfighting each other use normal people will be left alone. Rate me optimistic if your must.It would make the hobby a thousand times worse and wouldn't do anything to remove the troons. Just like it hasn't in the rest of the places they've invaded.
Though I guess it would make for more content to have schadenfreude about, so that's a fringe benefit!
Mostly just had to deal with self proclaimed “enbies” demanding the other players respect their pronouns, and fear of getting cancelled or booted from groups if I voice my opinions on various issues within the community. Shit’s still fucked tho.Give it about another decade, either the trans gestapo will have taken over or the crossover of all our dreams will happen. That's really the secret though, isn't it? If you only play with people in your social circle you'll never deal with insane people unless you have a hard time kicking them out of your friend group. The people who have the most trouble finding groups are people who just moved into an area (and have no friends) or people with autism, anxiety, or other social dysfunctions who have trouble making friends. All this shit is why I curate my group with an iron fist. I will kick people out if they are causing a problem. But I also do my group entirely via zoom or at my house. This makes keeping people out much easier. It’s a lot harder for the idiot to argue with you when you can use the words trespassing and castle doctrine.
Oh, I second this.If you start an online group just do what potential employers do and sift through their social media. It’s probably the greatest litmus test for morons that’s ever been created.
I have no idea who Luke Crane is. Can I assume people are ass mad over a nonetroversy?
what is the "Gender Critical Movement" as i have never heard of that.I’d love to see a crossover between the tabletop community and gender critical movement being a female tabletop gamer myself who’s sick of the tranny and genderspecial incursion into the hobby. He's the one who hired Adam Koebel a few pages back to write adventures for his Kickstarted "PERFECT RPG" project and didn't disclose that he hired him until it was found out farther into the kickstarter. Also he was the head of the RPG division of KS and plastered the "KICKSTARTERS WE LOVE!" on the first day of the pledge drive. Nepotism at it's finest.I have no idea who Luke Crane is. Can I assume people are ass mad over a nonetroversy?
Hello.
I apologize for such a long silence in the wake of the project launch last month. I’ve been in a lot of conservations, and doing a lot of listening. I waited to post anything because I wanted to be sure to be as thoughtful and considered as possible:
When we began the Perfect RPG project, my only goal was to launch a small collection of micro-games designed by my friends and others whose work I respect in the community. On the day it launched, while the project was falling apart, I did not fully understand what was at stake and what had happened—in the shock of the moment my communications were insensitive and desultory.
So here and now I wish to unequivocally apologize to you, and everyone affected, for the harm I’ve done to the community with this project. I am grateful for your input over the last month, and have done my best to listen with an open heart. I thank you for sharing your opinions and feelings, and know that I have violated the trust you placed in me. I am sincerely, deeply regretful.
In creating the project, I made a series of missteps and miscalculations that added up to a gross oversight on my part and, accordingly, I am fully responsible for the current situation and its effects. So I would like to add some clarification around some of the particular points raised, in the hope that it will help the community as a whole move forward in a productive way: There was no deceit, deception or bad faith in any of my actions around the project. I understand that I should have disclosed the participant list to all contributors beforehand, and I feel terrible that my poor planning placed some creators in a difficult position. Likewise with the unusual order in which contributors were listed—I was seeking to highlight the first creator on the list, who was my primary playtester for this project. In hindsight this was a poor idea that came off as duplicitous, for which I apologize.
The Indie RPG community is close-knit and passionate—it is one of the things I've loved the most about being a member. I have worked for 20 years to build and advocate for this community and expand it past its roots. It is very much my life’s work. To see it hurt through my actions has been devastating. Therefore I am now doing my best to repair the harm I have caused and make restitution to anyone negatively affected by my actions.
I recognize that this statement reflects an as-yet incomplete understanding of the impact of my actions, and only a start to making things right. I am actively looking for other ways to redress the wrong I’ve done. To begin this process, I have reached out to all the contributors of the project and I am in discussions with them, listening to their perspectives and asking them for input. I hope that with their help, and the help of this gaming community, I can demonstrate my continued commitment to building better games for all of us.
Sincerely,
—Luke
This great advice. We use that litmus test for TTB, and freak outs make even less sense since the system is designed to let you play multiple Pursuits at once. Hell, you can switch your Pursuit every game if you want. Besides, for a potential newbie do they realize how overwhelming the choices can be?Oh, I second this.
What's funny is a lot of the progressives, troons, and weirdos are really good at hiding their shit at first at the game table. I've had a couple that I was sure were going to be just fine and a handful of games in they tried to start shit with me about one thing or the other.
There's another little thing you can do.
Tell them "No" early in the game when they think they should be able to just do whatever due to 'player empowerment.' If they wig the fuck out on you (Not just a sober and calm 'why not?' but a full meltdown) then you know to get fucking rid of them during character generation. Plus, be up front about limitations on shit right off the bat. Any new players to my roll20 Pathfinder 1E game are told, straight out the gate: "You're restricted to the Core Rulebook" and when they ask why my 2 long time players aren't I tell them simply "Ten years of gaming together and they know the unspoken rules."
Usually people that flip out about how unfair it is will flip out how it's unfair that anyone get any kind of award or attention.
And anyone who asks to play a fucking furry or character from the Monster Manual or some kind of Player's Option book? Shitcan them.
No. You can't play a Kitsune Sorceress.
Putting an advertisement on the message board at the local store? How's Craig's list work for that?Ironically, in this age of high-speed information and instant connectivity, the best way to find yourself a stable group of like-minded people to kill some goblins with is to... use the same methods we were using back in the fucking 80s and 90s.
Something something history repeats itself something something...
When was the last time you saw an actual woman play warhammer? I think that's the answer right there lol. It's a hobby for men and men in dresses.I saw in a painting community earlier and they were discussing female warhammer/painting youtubers. They were amazed to find out all the promoted ones were trannies. Does youtube promote these manually or is it simps follow them and they rise to the top through recommendations?
What are the odds this will result in the discontinuation / dying-off of ZineQuest, an annual promotion event for small RPG zine quickstarters which Luke had launched and managed? Just asking because the people who are now celebrating Crane's removal/departure are often the same people who launch or throw money at ZineQuest projects.
