General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Ah I see. Didn't know Gigguk was part of Trash Taste.
FWIW, the podcast is a project of Bookwalker, which also happens to be a subsidiary of Kadokawa. I've used some of their clips here a couple of times to re-enforce some points/arguments about the retardation of Japanese companies since these guys do have access and actually have first-hand experience dealing with Japanese management/businesses.

When is channel started it was mostly Black Butler dubs, which led to him having a 95% female viewership. He's major fujobait.
Dude's been pretty open about changing his content from the Black Butler stuff early on. He does retain a very high-percentage of female audience though - the accent itself is cross-demographic, female coomer-bait.

It was purchased from a bookstore, meaning it was not a private or personal work. I think we all agree that there was no reason to get upset. Do people who write erotic doujins take it seriously? You would think it would be humorous like when porn does a parody of a movie.
Thing is, making doujinshi is a labour of love and passion, even in non-japanese doujinshi like in my place, those who did made ones usually did it because they wanted to (though some just wanted the financial benefit, I'm pretty sure). Considering the types that made doujinshi in japan are the terminally online ones, the sentiment would be much stronger and personal. That said, its still a very tarded thing to do to just rant about it in public before talking about it in private. Even the artist missed this basic decency.

Also, I heard that the doujinshi was about Gundam, especially about Char-Amuro ship. Can anyone confirmed it? If it is, that gave a whole another perspective about this

isn't it about eren and levi with eren being the top?

If we are still on topic of Miko-Marine debacle, gotta point out that doujinshi artists are also profiting from using IPs that don't belong to them.
its possible why the artist realised they fucked up and privated their twatter too. Either they didn't expect how many more angry gachikois there are or realised that them making doujinshi about Gundam characters might land them in hot water with whoever has the copyrights for Gundam (think its Bandai?). All in all, they've painted a bullseye on themselves atm

This is why doujin artist start to work for the official anime company last year. I'm gonna took example like mezashi (love live doujin artist) start work with G's Magazine to make 4koma in there or promotional art, like Ina do on her roommate account. Doujin artist are prohibited to make fan merchandise, if they got caught they gonna get fucked from company (ex: Sunrise, since they hold Gundam franchise). They still got pass with making of doujinshi, but because pandemic, no comicket = no income, no money.

People gonna forget the doujin since they got v-tuber streaming and more entertaining for them, which means doujinshi fame is fading more or artist just sell them on doujinshi sites like toranora or else. This guy is example for me atleast, since people didn't buy their art, they have no income and fame faded, thinking what Marine and Miko do is retard, goes full snowflake like mizuryu, realize they got fucked, being coward by privating their account.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I saw someone on Twitter mentioning the Charmuro ship in relation with the Marine-Miko attack

The thing is, technically the IP holder retains the right to sue them, but they decided not to because its a big hassle. There are, however, cases where the IP holder sent C&D to doujinshi (not necessarily porn) artist, some because the works got so popular the IP holder is worried about their hold of the IP

Actually, due to the pandemic and cancellation of Comiket, lots of artist now sold their works directly through places like DMM or Fanza. The situation is so severe Toranoana and Melonbook announced big downsizing because of the move by artist to sold them digitally. Also, a lot of artists (especially big ones) now opted to create original characters and stories because now the asshole of licensors like Irodori and OnTakahashi can bought them without any additional copyright problem from being a derivative works (case in point, Tachibana Omina and Mizuryu Kei) in additon of potentially making their own successful IP

I think most of us can agree some doujin (and even manga) artist understand the need to diversify their field of work and now even Vtube.
eg. Pochi (MILF anime and that one sister series, also character artist for Reine)
another example is the artist for the Goblin Slayer manga
if that BL doujin artist had any braincells, they would've debuted as a Vtuber, claimed they were the artist for the BL that Miko and Marine talked about and made $$$. Nope, lemme throw a hissy fit. Kinda makes me wonder what happened to Mizuryu Kei after tha fallout with Cover. He was doing pretty good as a doujin artist + Vtuber if I recall

inb4 she tries to fly into an airport where Airforceproud95 is the ATC.

"You are cleared to crash and burn"
"Eating shit" is Airproud69's traditional phrasing for "crashing and burning".

Probably encourage her to make the final approach inverted and level out just before touching the runway.

or Halo (even Calli and Ame already play it).
But they never continued their playthrough due to the fact that they apparently did not have permissions to stream it.

Which is weird because there's a gigantic "streaming permissions" page on Microsoft's website that generally allows streaming rights for games like the Halo franchise.

Somewhat Vtuber related, but Neptunia Virtual Stars just dropped on Steam.

There are a couple Holos in there as NPCs, I wonder if they are gonna play it or if it's a permissions nightmare.

I was wondering why there is no mention of it from the featured vtubers and so on, and I think I have found the answer in the Steam review:

I think the deals with vtubers/agencies were made way before they exploded in popularity outside Japan, so their presence isn't as pronounced as vtuber fans would like to.

Two Holos from each gen, not counting gen's 1 (who shares one with Gamers) and at the time all of gen 0. I agree with you and suspect the ideas for how to implement them were done before the Hololive boom in Japan, let alone the West. The most popularity boost they would've gotten by then would be the Azur Lane collab. I think the fans who wanted more of their fave vtuber should try to support this and ask for more inclusion.

I'm not getting it, because the last one I played was Hyperdimension and I'm already busy with another grindy game MonHun. Gotta do my reps for Watame and all.

I was planning on watching that sometime tonight darn it.
Better get that popcorn ready

Well that's a damn shame. Saves me $50 at least...
