Jim Sterling / James "Stephanie" Sterling / James Stanton/Sexton & in memoriam TotalBiscuit (John Bain) - One Gaming Lolcow Thread

Oh boy.
His entire presentation is indeed somehow getting *even* worse. I would argue exponentially so.

Gamestop.
Starts with a boring tangent about covid to end in more boring commentary about ebil capituliasim.
Thats 3 minutes of my life i wont get back, just to read a press statement that can be summarised with "Gamestop reports lower revenue."
The "random piece of last weeks news" filler content to increase the length of the video is seemingly here to stay.

Gilson is evil and update.
Again, "Gilson is continuing the shenanigans" is too short, so we get a re-telling of the history so far,
and a *totally believeable* story about how the evil emails are bullying him.

A random, lazy YTP of some old advert. Definitely not filler content.

3 Actiblizz is evil episode 200.
Hot take "Men are evil" because "Capitalism is evil" Goes on and on about executive pay, while ignoring that the financial system, not "capitalism" is responsible for this.
"Bobby Kotick is letting of people die every day because he is not solving the financial problems of every single american" is a bit hypocritical for someone hoarding 10k a month for the heroic burden of recording news commentary videos that he does not even edit himself.

And thats it.
I swear this episode is artificially drawn out. He takes forever and ever to get to a point, repeats himself and draws words out unusually long.
This did not need to be 20 minutes long. Even when hes not talking about some retarded political hot-take, it just feels like it will never end.
Btw, would it kill him to add chapters to these videos ?

General question to anyone in this thread who unsubscribed from Jim around the time he started trooning out: has his videos started popping up in your recommendations?

The reason I ask is because the last two (maybe three) Jimquisitions in a row have popped into my recommendations the Monday they were released. I'm pretty sure this timeline coincides with when Jim was bitching to YouTube about how he was "shadow banned."

I've never watched a Jimquisition since the digihom saga, after which is around when he became unbearable to listen to. He was still in my subscriptions until around when he started to Troon, when I decided to "declutter" my subscriptions. About a week after this thread reported on his "shadow ban" sperging, videos I haven't watched in years, from a channel I'd recently unsubscribed from somehow ended up in my recommendations constantly. Very thunk provoking.

I suspect that YouTube might be signal boosting this Troon.

They definitely are, I've never watched a single video of Jims, rarely watch gaming news related channels and I've had every single video of his video recommended to me for days after they've released lately. I also don't think I've ever had his videos recommended to me before this.

After I unsubbed, thumbsdowned a few videos, and told YT to stop suggesting him, he did vanish from my feed for a time. However, he still pops up every Monday, probably because I had gone back to watch his old videos for comparison.

To compare, I did the same with The Bible Reloaded and its spinoff channels, another channel I used to follow until they went full SJW and trooned out, however I don't revisit thier archive like I have with Sterling. Around January, they flooded my feed, but now they only pop up in my feed once a month or so.

There's an early episode of Jimquisition where he comments on the tattered state of his backdrop and he says something to the effect of how it's real paper and not a greenscreen because he feels that's cheap and shitty. Nowadays his entire schtick is cheap and shitty.

Latest videos sucked. I unsubbed to him after he went troon but I watched the last two hoping for a return to form with Digital Homicide style drama. Unfortunately, he cant even make that interesting anymore.

When Jim went transatlantic and I made unsubscribing official, I hadn't actually watched any of his videos in ages. I never see anything of his in my recommended videos these days, I'm happy to say. He already said anything worth listening to years ago.

0:36- "Is it too extra? Is it too much? Do you hate- you hate it, don't you..." Yes, most people who've seen his new get-ups hate them, which is one of the many reasons why he's bleeding subs.
Yes Jim, we hate it, because it's very obvious what you're trying to appear as.
7:00- "How has Gislon's channel not been terminated". Goes over Gislon abusing the DMCA.
Jim, you of all people should know how YouTube works with DMCAs. The person filing is always in the right until you prove otherwise because YouTube refuses to be liable for your bullshit should you have been in the wrong.

I stopped watching two years ago when it started to feel like the same old shit but new week, and then hit the unsub when he trooned out. Surprisingly, I haven't gotten his videos but that's also because I bounce around so much on youtube that his shit doesn't appear, hell I occasionally get recommended Null and the Kiwi Archive's channel because I like having background noise when I work. And no that's not a jab at you Null, I just like re-listening to things.

I thought his wrestling gimmick (that was the joke) was that he was a hideous, overly flamboyant asshole who clearly couldn't wrestle but liked to talk shit anyway. It was cringey but he seemed to like wrestling and he calls himself a showman so I thought it would be something he would work. It's not like he's never had a passion for things so I expected him to maybe lose some weight and focus on that a bit more, maybe get a bit more enjoyment out of his life.
But like everything else he does he just gave up and started doing the bare minimum once the honeymoon phase was over and the patreon bucks were still coming in.

I forgot Sterling was a games journalist and stupidly put expectations on him to be a normal human being.

Yeah, I had the same thing with The Bible Reloaded, it even made me watch one of their newer episodes and they really have gotten bad. They both got even fatter and Hugo doesn't even in any way try to be feminine, really comes across as any other troon and he seems absolutely obsessed with theQuartering. If anyone could sit through their content they might warrant a thread themselves, but by god is it boring

I was a avid follower of his show from around 2012 to 2016, and unsubbed after the god awful Not Responsible video (this one) in 2018. I had him pop up in my recommendations a few times in the past couple of years, but I have yet see any of his content in a while. Jim is literally just a broken record at this point and I pretty much agree whole-heartedly with Null's analysis that Jim just hates videos games now, but has to put on a gross dog and pony show in order to not starve on the streets. All this drama and trooning out just shows how pathetic and miserable of person he's become now that his politics are his new god, and I imagine the eventual deletion of his YouTube channel is going to start the tailspin of his career into obscurity and resentment.

All his brain dead transflag having followers are egging him on to do it. Not realizing that if Jim does sue then he won’t be able to publicly comment on it therefore no new content. Only a big celebration video in maybe 2 years when they settle the suit.
He'd probably talk about it anyway. Really there is no point in doing it if he gets no views out of it. But like the other guy said they could just outright ban him and tell him to go eat a dick.

I saw a few of his videos on The Escapist but never liked his work enough to follow. Haven't seen him pop up in recommendations on YouTube, for what it's worth. Some people have profiles that escape that.
