By making a controversial statement, or having an unjustifiable opinion; people would join and try to call her out, fight her, etc. With her sole focus on getting an audience.

Plus there are articles and research done that concludes that parental age is one of the leading cause for autism, the older the parent the more probable is that autism develops.

In this case I believe is a mix of both.

yes, the rate of intellectual disabilities and autism increases proportionally with the age of the mother during pregnancy. however, in my experience, most of the older parents I have encountered are much stricter with their children and monitor their behavior more closely than younger parents. slight pl: I am a child of "elderly" parents and work in a school. I think this is because older parents have more life experience and are more likely to be paranoid and sometimes even controlling about their children. but you are certainly correct that older parents do not understand young people very well on the whole (especially the way they use the internet), and this can manifest in a few ways: denying their child access to what they're paranoid about; constant battling because they think the kid is a shithead for using the internet/social media or because they are sneaking around to get past the house rules; or complete ignorance of how they are conducting themselves online. I think it depends on how intelligent the parents are and what kind of lifestyle they have. rich people and wannabes are way less likely to give a fuck about what their kids are doing and will even defend them in the face of unacceptable behavior. seems that elaine's parents are a great example of this, as her exhibitionist behavior has been going on for years and they have done literally nothing about it. and if it is true that her mother showed up outside Queck's house for whatever reason they might be in denial too.
