I know this isnt a politically related term but I have no where else to bitch about it and it's not worth a thread:
"Gastropub."
What the fuck does that even really mean. From what I read, it just means a pub that serves food and the distinction came about because filthy anglo tramp houses didnt commonly serve food, as opposed to bar/restaurant combos seen practically everywhere else. Nowadays it's used by dumb hipsters who want to make their cookie cutter bar swill sound like it's worth overcharging for. Not one place who uses the term gastropub does not have their heads firmly up their ass.
People didnt need to make up a new word to describe a venue that serves both booze and food. I dont care what the limeys say. Hell I would personally be far more inclined to dine at a place that designates itself as having "the best eats in town".
