I felt similar to how you are feeling before the trial. I saw strictly the footage of Floyd on the ground crying for his mom saying he can’t breathe.. and I thought “legally this is at least manslaughter”. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing at first.
then I saw his previous arrest of him saying he can’t breathe
then I saw him sobbing saying he can’t breathe while they’re trying to get him in the car while I witness says he was foaming at the mouth
THEN I looked closer at the video where Derek is “kneeling on his neck” while you can see George be able to move his head around
Hearing testimony that he had indications of ODing (not his first time) while yelling he can’t breathe (even while cops offer to get him some air in a rolled down window) makes me believe there is more at play here than police negligence. Police are not paramedics. And all they can do is keep a subject subdued until help arrives. Could things have been differently? Sure. On both ends. Do I think there was any intent behind killing George? No
