I'm fascinated by the current CoD gameplay. Phil has started running the dual Diamatti pistols and seems to be having more fun than before. He constantly calls it stupid, he keeps saying how unrealistic it is to be running around with pistols on a battlefield, but he's having fun with it. It's almost like after years of his weird autism claiming CoD is some kind of ultra-realistic military sim, he's starting to realize that the game is just an arcade shooter with the trappings of 'realism'.
But even when he finally embraces the thing that he has hated on for years, he still cannot admit that his understanding and approach to the game was wrong. The game is still wrong, he's just having fun with it, as if that isn't the goal of the devs. This has, curiously, caused a decline in his made-up explanations of how the matchmaking system works. He's still complaining about connections constantly, but there has been fewer theories about some secret alternative matchmaking program he gets into by losing, but contains the best players.
It takes a next level content creator to weave hypocrisy into CoD gameplay. And somehow still be just as boring as before.
