Every good tarot reader I've known was also a writer of fiction, it's a neat way to brush up on impromptu storytelling and weaving yarns. A good tarot reader wouldn't even need the deck, but it's an important part of the suspension of disbelief.

I would imagine Jude has to keep very quiet about it because if they find out, she would be given the boot pretty sharpish.

If she truly has PCOS, the threshold for getting diabetes, high cholesterol, and other metabolic issues related to high fat and sugar/carbs in her diet are way lower than women without metabolic/hormonal dysfunction. Judy almost certainly has full-blown issues (diabetes/high blood pressure/high cholesterol) by now. PCOS really fucks with how the body processes those types of nutrients and it's a much more delicate, deliberate balance than women with normal hornome levels need to have to not start having metabolic issues. If Jude really does have PCOS, I wouldn't be surprised if her "fibro" is actually just low estrogen fucking with her circadian rhythm and giant cysts in her ovaries causing her pain as they continue to grow, then rupture. And then there's the obvious issues with her digestion causing her pain-no one's body is designed to process 4 chalupa supremes and a large Pepsi every 3 waking hours. Homegorl is carrying at least one other normal-weight woman's poundage of fat in her body as she does nothing to mitigate the issues that extra fat causes.

Eta: Pour one out for our boy, Orion. Judy tends to not have the "spoons" to feed the animals that no longer serve her attention seeking on the internet needs. Hopefully having other cat buddies in the apartment helps him with this transition.
