I forget where I read it, but someone somewhere made the argument that easy times bred weak people. We're in an unprecedented time of peace and prosperity and it's driving us mad. This is one of the reasons i think that social media is poison and anyone would do good ditching it and just meeting IRL (not now with coronita tho). If anything, many aso tie it with the current increase of autism in people because of their extremely fucked view of social interactions and stuff, but i don't know. This is kind of true. With no struggles, you don't know how to prepare or toughen up for hard times. This age of plenty has given lots of time to people to focus on inane problems and invented oppressions that a long time before would have been laughed off because people had a lot more pressing problems.
