I keep reading these posts and all I can conclude is people forget there are other cultural standards beyond what happens in USA.

All of the arguments I keep reading on gender and race are artifacts of the US sociopolitical scene. The world at large does not give a shit about the black vs white rethoric. The black-white divide is mostly American. The rest of the world just keeps hating on jews and muslims. Even the weird obsession people have with transgendered people's genitals is mainly limited to the anglosphere. The main argument people use to justify troon hate is because they do it for clout and exposure. What? Is that all it takes to froth at the mouth when a guy suddenly wants to be a girl?

I'm sorry for sperging out on this, it just keeps bugging me.

I'm sorry, but that is not quite correct. You forget the absolutely huge, massive, ridiculous cultural influence America has on the world. Everyone is watching American movies, listening to American songs, watching American news. The consequence is that local social issues get reframed in American contexts even when it makes absolutely no sense at all. I find it always infuriating when that happens, but it does in fact happen all the time. No black/white divide in your country? Just frame the "natives"/migrant divide as if it were the same, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Etc etc. You can see that when discourse in your country doesn't even bother to translate the English terms anymore, which makes it very obvious it's just aping the American discourse and nothing more.

I think there's some confusion, my argument is not that cover is per se doing something "wrong" by not talking about politics, or that their stance on politics is unusual for a japanese company, or that the japanese management or japanese audiences want them to talk politics, or endorse any progressive politics.

Several days ago, an Indonesian Twitter user complained to Hololive Indonesia's Twitter account regarding Jaret Fajrianto, an Indonesian independent Virtual YouTuber affiliated with GHOSTY's Comic, a comic strip based around otaku cultures.

The user inquires Hololive ID's staff that their talents collabed with Jaret way too often. They asked management to supervise Jaret but they are okay with Holostars collabs for some reason. He also talked about how a lot of people had their SuperChats unnoticed and it's bad because "Cover's business is based upon delusional viewers and while Indonesian viewers may understand why (HoloID girls collapsed with Jaret), foreign audiences may not understand it.

The user also said that he "represents" fans that dislike Jaret collabs with HoloID girls but too afraid to say it publicly. Also complained that it's not good for him to arrive at home after work only to find their favorite VTuber having fun with others (probably referring to Jaret).

Predictably, the user was bashed in Facebook and Twitter for being a spergy delusional retard. He deactivated/deleted his Twitter account, never to be seen again. Jaret knows this and responded by sending a tweet.

I don't think the Iranians have much to do with day-to-day life/religious practice in ID, especially given that 99% of ID Musselmen are Sunni (edit: and so disconnected from middle eastern practice that a lot of them are hazy on the distinction).

I can confirm this, most people are not that knowledgeable or religious enough to know the advanced level of schools of thought. We only know the difference between sunni and shia, and even then most are known from sunni's source

Finally someone said it. American cultural influence is so huge and far reaching what happened there will no matter how small or even indirect, will affect the rest of the world. This is something that almost American, even the woketards, doesn't recognize because of the bubble they have.

However, I might add that most countries, especially in Asia tend to not that bothered with some aspects of sociopolitical things like racism or feminism as the western ones because we so much MUCH more urgent issues that needs to be solved. We all know, deep down, problems like that need to solved as well. But it takes time, and most Asian hated performative actions, so instead we put it on the back end of priorities.

I'm from LATAM and the gender politics are here in force, even taking into account that they arrived a bit late.

It's everywhere, politics, media, entertainment, you name it.
