I think I've said this before but, Gator is not with Ralph because of blackmail or even money, he is with Ralph because he has nothing else in his life.
You can hear it when he says "They attack me because I am a cohost on the Killstream and they are not", he actually thinks being a part of the kill report panel of white noise is something to be jealous about.

He lives his life on the internet, at best he has a job at Trader Joe's or something similar but he has no life outside of his internet persona.
His sense of self worth is entirely based on Ralph's "success" so he has to believe all the bullshit he spews otherwise he would be forced to confront his own failings.
He has no prospects in life, women are not interested in him, he surrounds himself with internet "friends" (most of which are just people wanting to launch their own grift through Ralph or are Ralph's friends and at best tolerate Gator), so yeah, being a cohost for Ralph is a big deal when it's the only thing you have.

He wasn't like this at first I think, it's been a gradual process that has gotten much worse during lockdown, to the point where he just sounds like an insane person at this point. Just like Ralph he has become obsessed with what people say about him but cannot handle criticism.
