Looks like some kind of racist stereotype or an incomplete Easter Island Head.
I wonder if they posted the crease pattern. It doesn't look like the nostrils are real, but I'd still be amused confirming it.
only a jury like this could find Chauvin guilty

What a weird cross section.
- There are 9 women and 5 men. The women outnumber the men nearly 2:1. But, there are 3 black men to the 1 black woman. Pretty sure black men are more likely than black women to get DQed from jury duty (gotta avoid dying or getting a felony). That's a lot of black men.
- Possibly related to the above, two of the three black men are immigrants and married fathers. (for 79, I'm assuming not being from America + qualifies for Jury Duty = immigrated)
- The one black woman graduated college, got a reasonable sounding degree, but did not get a job in her field. She is a 60 year old grandma so I'm assuming she got the degree long enough ago that she predated the affirmative action, diversity grants, and lowered standards colleges use to boost their black population today. That degree might actually be an impressive achievement.
- The one single mother is white
- 9 and 92 make me nervous, they actually put their emotions into their descriptions. Excited and terrified.
- The one person who wants to be a juror the most has the least identifying information.
The irony, the jury won't know this. They aren't allowed to read newspapers, watch the news, or even TALK to anyone outside the jury itself for the duration. They can't even leave their, segregated, rooms without supervision.
How does that work? I already thought the anonymity was at risk because anyone close to them is going to realize they haven't gone to work for a month... Now they aren't going home for a month either?
I assume to really keep them pure, they aren't allowed Internet either? So many forms of entertainment they can't use...
Jurors really should get paid like double their regular salary for doing this. One times their salary for doing work and to ensure they can keep paying the bills. Another time their salary because they are basically giving up their personal time too.
Do you have a source for this? I'd like to read into it more.
I don't know about written sources, but sometimes Summit Properties NW on YouTube mentions it. I think they described it as being based on how close your zip code is to a high risk zip code, so it's a little more than the hot zones that have problems.
Took them awhile to get there but I think having a police lieutenant straight up say that yeah, Chauvin should have been doing CPR or something as he is trained to do is pretty compelling.
The defense was only really able to say that "It was complicated."
I'd agree with the defense here, and if they didn't elaborate on how it was complicated then they fucked up. The incident occurred May 25th, 2020.
In April, law enforcement in Minnesota had their pandemic PPE already, but they didn't have enough PPE, so there were sob stories of cops giving their masks away to medical personnel. There were legitimate reasons why it would be considered safer - both for Floyd and for Chauvin - if every effort was made to avoid having them look at eachother face to face and breathing on eachother and especially don't breath from one of their mouths into the other! And that's even if we ignore the drugs and mouth foam.
To put into perspective just how seriously Minnesota and Minneapolis in particular were taking the pandemic at the time, on
May 26th they started enforcing a mask mandate with a $1000 fine. And that was after the lockdowns started, so people didn't have a job to pay the fine with. If May 25th - the day Floyd died - weren't Memorial day, then I think the mandate would have already been in effect. Even though Chauvin was not enforcing the mandate yet, I'm sure he was at least aware that literally 24 hours later he would have to, and that that was how important it was that he avoid face to face breathing.
