Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I'm fully convinced that most people who bought SwSh, especially the ones who bought both versions to "own the haters" never made it past the 4th gym or something. Nowadays people seem to care for Pokemon only either for nostalgia, or just as an easy way to get nerd creed, not unlike Funkos.

Would those same people that bought Sword & Shield to "own haters" did the same with The Last of Us 2?

Probably.

For when your consoomerism coincides with your bad taste in music. For those who don't know (or aren't from the UK), Lewis Capaldi (related to Peter Capaldi of Dr. Who fame) is a mediocre pop singer with a few big hits in both the UK and the US. If I hadn't seen the name on the box, I wouldn't have any idea who this was, like a lot of Pops modeled after people. He's also only been "famous" in the last few years, making this thing even more questionable.

Ironically, Lewis Capaldi himself is more recognizable, due to looking like a living potato.

Oh god, seeing all that TLOU 2 merch reminds me of what is perhaps the absolute peak of, if not consoomerism, certainly mental illness.
I don't think I'm kidding when I say this room creeps me the fuck out, literally covered wall to wall, floor to ceiling in just TLOU2 merch.

And the Neil Druckmann chair strikes yet again!

The other funny thing about the TLOU2 shrine is why someone would create one, given how the series consists of only two games, plus DLC for the first game. I don't remember if TLOU has any other supplemental material, i.e. novels, comics, etc., although there is the upcoming HBO series that will serve as a "re-telling" of the story, per Mr. Drunkmann. And even yet, the series itself is tiny compared to other fandoms that people go all-on consoom mode for.

The thing about the donut thing is not the donuts but if their Krispy Kremes are like mine, they're such a hassle to get to since the nearest one to me is a 20 minute drive. It's like one donut and not even boxes, so fuck that.
Why does he have four copies of what I assume to be the same exact game? Like they don't look like collector's cases.

The amount of dedication to TLOU is insane. When the first game had a great story but threw it in the trash in the Sequel. Dedication to BRAND and Neil Druckmann, this honestly creeps me out.

Sadly, i don't have the picture, but i think there is an screencap somewhere from the same guy saying something like "Expending frivolously is the best way to own the chuds :^)". So, next time you read someone on Twitter saying "I'll buy 3 copies of this game just to annoy you!", there's a chance they're dead serious about it.

If they were smart about it, they would scalp them. I guess soyboys like to get stuff at release date.
