The posters are a combination of old people reminiscing about the good old days of Communism, and younger people sad because they were born too late to live under Communism. Some of the justifications and doublethink they use are as stupid as anything Lucas has said, except Lucas at least has the excuse of being a schizophrenic who does not take his medication. The only people who (IMO) have some legitimate reasons to wish for the good old days of the USSR are the residents of former Soviet client states or republics which have absolutely gone to shit since then. On the other hand, the residents of current shitholes like Moldova (which genuinely was better in Soviet days, because at least the Soviets spent some money on building and maintaining public infrastructure which the current government can't be arsed to do) aren't the ones posting on that forum either.

I was actually about to mention this, but wanted to go back and make sure to grab the right quotes, which I'll do later but just wanted to mention. I really appreciate you sharing this as someone who enjoys reading about this kind of stuff. It’s funny though as you say people who never lived it but long for “the good old days.” I would love to debate Lucas on his Commie credentials but I wouldn’t give him any money to do it we all know how arrogant he gets when you give him money and besides in his own words “everything free” but he never thinks that anything should ever start with himself ever.
