The global edible insects market is projected to surpass US$ 850 million by the end of 2027, in terms of revenue, growing at CAGR of 6.7% during the forecast period (2020 to 2027).

Edible insects are consumed across various regions as they are rich in various nutrients such as amino acids and essential minerals. Rising demand for protein-rich food products such as protein bars and snacks due to rising health consciousness among consumers is also expected to accelerate the market growth of edible insects over the forecast period.

Who the fuck is eating bugs?
They wrote this one in a way to make it sound like this is human consumption, but I can almost guarantee the projected increase comes from here:
They are also used across the aquaculture and poultry industries.
and not from people actually eating them willingly.

I mean, i have seen a few youtubers eating some of them out of curiosity and to make an epic reaction. But yeah, there really isn't an actual market for people who want to eat them.

I don't object to bugs being an available protein, that said, the people pushing the bugs are the kind of people who also want nobody to eat meat and they aren't exactly subtle about it, and they consistently frame it as a life and death struggle because muh environment and global warming which should also tell you loads about their intentions.

They're ready to come up with 5 million studies written by washed out college graduates the instant bugs get any traction and then will use this as a wedge to punish meat production legislatively because "yOu nEeD tO FoLlOw ThE sCiEnCe", which is exactly the blueprint they used for COVID.
