Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I just want to point out that the issue with HIPAA here is that when you give access to medical information like this, that information loses HIPAA protection. That's how this works and why people are greatly irritated by it, it's a roundabout way to coerce people into handing information over and making it free use effectively.
Late reply, but of course this is the point of getting people to hand over the info themselves. They want to get around HIPAA and this is how they’re doing it.

I have such nostalgia for this thread. It induced me into utter panic over a year ago and look where we are now! I appreciate all the insights here.
Personally, I live in a rural area of a blue state. Every other house alternates BLM signs with Blue Lives Matter so it's pretty 50/50 politically, aside from the nearby metropolitan area. Most people don't wear masks outside, but do inside, with local stores still enforcing mask mandates. Can you blame them? The fines must be insane. Feeling a lot of social pressure to get the vaccine even though I am young and have no comorbidities. I had an appointment lined up but seriously reconsidering after reading this thread today.

Don't get it or not get it cause we tell you to. Do your research and make the choice that seems safest to you.
(Personally, after running Covid math I think I'm young enough to be pretty safe, but that's just me.)

This thread has certainly helped me keep a level head. I didn't fully buy into the hysteria, although I was a bit worried at the start with all those reports of morgues overflowing in CCP-land, though now it seems much more likely that was propaganda to get the rest of the world to panic. Still, I followed the recommendations, sanitized frequently, and didn't go out nearly so much. After a month or so when it was clear we weren't all about to die, I began to relax some, and eventually I stopped bothering. It's not like I was going up to people and coughing in their face, but at the same time I wasn't getting anal about being six feet apart at all times and constantly having a facemuzzle on. Now that my state's free of mandates, I'm pretty much fully back to normal. I keep a mask in my pocket in case someone really doesn't want to let me in without one, but aside from the theaters and the local comic/hobby shop, I haven't had a single problem going around maskless. Ever thankful I live in a red state.

Church is still "requiring" masks, but I decided that personally, I'd had enough. It's Easter, and dammit, I wanted people to see a smiling face today. Didn't put it on once, nobody complained. Gave some hugs, no complaints. If things are still going to go as my pastor has planned, we'll probably do away with the dumb ribbons in the pews before next week.

With regards to the vaccine, like @Mrs. Addams said, don't let us tell you what to do. You're an adult who can make up their own mind about whether you think it's worth it. In my opinion, if you're young and healthy, you can easily choose to skip it, especially if you already had the coof. While I don't think it's likely there's anything serious that can result from these like giving everyone the betus or something, I'm erring on the side of caution and opting out. I already caught the coof and didn't even know I had it, so I'd much rather take my chances with the known effects of the coof over the unknown side effects of the vaccines.

Or to put it another way, no one has yet been able to tell me convincingly what a vaccine can do for me that my own body's immune system hasn't already done, so what's the point?

Why anyone is listening to the man who thinks windows 10 is well functioning is beyond me.

Because he has a lot of money and he donates to charity, guys!!

Honestly, its because most major organizations are on his payroll, so they tell him "Trust the Gates".

Leaving people to die is pretty based TBH. humanity wont get stronger by letting people who contribute nothing like CWC live and reproduce. That said charity is also based since you are taking action to help the poor yourself instead of expecting daddy government to handle everything.

I think this is a tragic truth people dont want to accept.

Most people that Covid are killing werent going to last very long either way. If a glorified cold can kill you, Im sorry, you werent genetically meant to go on and most of that time thats really thanks to your own unhealthy habits.

Well, WHO said it guys! It must be true!

Trust the ScienceTM, forever....

And you know whats angers me so much? Ultimately they will get away with it. People have embraced their vaccines and narrative in a desperated act to get any normality back...

Thats both sad and pathetic.

Got to have another conversation with my friend. He's so paranoid that every time a person catches covid, covid gets stronger and levels up to become more deadly. I tried to explain that it tends to head in the other direction, that usually it benefits a virus to stabilize in a new host. Ebola for instance, can't gain a huge foothold in humans because it's so deadly and so virulent that it doesn't have much opportunity to spread before someone dies in a pool of their own bloody vomit, but all those things that we lump in as "colds" borrow us for a bit, reproduce and spread to the next handful of people, so they will never go away.

So aww, who is going to tell him that viruses are not fucking pokemon. Ask him how a virus hasnt wiped us before if Corona, a fucking COLD virus, IS JUST THAT DEADLY?

People dont want to accept that they are too lazy to look up shit up, they are arrogant and stupid.

These people are unworthy of the title "individual". True NPCs. Would settle for living in boxes they can't leave with no personal interactions besides highly monitored electronic communications.

Oh wait....

These people literally exist as less socially functional than Oblivion characters. "It is wake up time. I go to here and stand. It is end day time, I go to here and sit. I have a preset dialogue that is scripted for me from my programmer streaming service."

I truly cannot express in words how little I think of these of submissive sycophants of the state.

I wouldnt insult Oblivion NPCs like that tho...

No, WE donated to his charity.

The $1.9 Trillion COVID relief package had a $3.5B item to the Bill Gates Foundation. Every single American involuntarily gave $10 to his charity.

Anybody seen this shit from the 'ad council' a group of large companies that pull money together for shitty ads?
I'm not sure if they're AD Council ads, but a couple of particular radio ads have stuck out to me in my part of Kiwiland due to their frequency:

One features what's supposed to be a Native American woman and her grandson talking about why their tribe can't have their annual pow-wow and related activities due to COVID.

Another opens up with a woman saying something such as, "Hi, my wife and I..." which makes it sound like it's trying to promote wearing masks as something that's woke, progressive, and the in thing to do because lesbian couples are doing it.
