For me it's morbid curiosity. Death doesn't bother me, but the possibility however slim that something could fall off a building and crush someone or a moron in a truck obliterates people like in a Final Destination movie is terrifying and fascinating at the same time. It could happen to any one of us.
I know that a lot of jobs that require operating heavy machinery will show actual footage of accidents as a way to show what happens when things aren't handled safely and I think that's justifiable since a lathe could easily rip a limb off someone or even turn them into shredded beef like in that video on the first page.
Can't say I get any enjoyment out of death videos, unless it's something like a wild animal mauling or trampling some douche who was harassing it (like matadors getting gored by bulls). Videos of children or pets getting killed or abused can fuck off though.

This is why this thread exists. I find this fascinating because I have so many questions. For example what was the story here (I don't speak Russian)? The way he hesitates and starts smoking makes me think suicide, but then why were the people around him cool with it? To what degree was he "alive" at the end? Can you survive a bullet to the front of the brain like that?

A 5.56 to the head like that? No he's deddo af. I think it's a suicide because of how he grabbed the trigger and it was sudden press. Deliberate one. Perhaps he was on the front lines and his buddies thought he was just fucking around but he really pulled the trigger.

Yeah I rewatched it and it does look like a suicide misinterpreted by his friends as a joke. Just before he pulls the trigger he closes his eyes, which indicates that he was fully aware of what he was doing and not just fucking around.

Although I agree the reaction could be real the video seems fake as fuck. Compare the blood spatter on that clip to the one before or any close range 7.62 execution.

Yeah, I wonder if the "pink mist" is a myth. Bullets go so fast, that it's just like a blink. Probably if you are hit with a hunting rifle in the head or higher cal, maybe. But handguns and medium cal rifles? It's just a big hole that bleeds when you fall, from what I've seen. Even the russian guy barely had a blood splatter.

You can see that with the Nice Shot posted earlier. Dwyer used a .357 magnum which "theoretically" should have made that fine red mist from that distance.
Not even the ISIS "point blank shotgun" video had that fine red mist.

I don't know if start-to-finishing this thread in one go was a good idea or not. Life is fucking chaos lmfao.
Seeing the variances across areas is interesting though. South American gang violence is even more brutal than middle eastern jihad niggas. Asian countries are just straight up not fucking safe. Russians are fucking insane. Americans die over the dumbest fucking shit possible. Middle easterners are incompetent warfighters but really know how to give a speech before executing a motherfucker. And no one in any country whatsoever knows how to drive.
Obvious stereotypes, but when coupled with some of the shit in this thread they just make complete sense.
