A man who was arrested after refusing a temperature screening at Disney Springs in Florida told authorities that he couldn't be told to leave because he had spent $15,000 on his vacation.

The man, Kelly Sills, a tourist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, bypassed the Orlando attraction's medical screening in February and refused to get his temperature checked when asked by Disney employees, according to a report from the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Body camera video released recently showed Sills refusing to leave when asked by law enforcement.

"I spent $15,000 to come here," Sills said after a deputy told him that he was officially considered to be trespassing. Deputies and a security manager at Disney Springs had approached Sills outside the Boathouse restaurant, according to the police report.

The report said Sills argued with the security manager, yelling at him, before the manager told him he was "no longer welcome at the park today."

A woman could be heard asking officers not to arrest Sills in the video.

"He's not listening," a man responded. "All he had to do was get temperature-checked. That's it."

At another point in the video, Sills asked whether authorities could take his temperature before forcing him to leave. Someone responded that they would do so at jail, according to NBC affiliate WFLA of Tampa. Sills also claimed to be a Disney stockholder at another point.

Sills pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor trespassing charge, according to court records. His attorney, Michael Zmijewski, declined to comment Sunday.

Money well spent. You refuse to get your temperature checked and you get kicked out. Hope it was worth it, my guy.

That's why I think there is something else to this story not being reported.

Don't get me wrong, there are absolute spergs that will shout about something like this. But I don't believe this man spent $15K just to rant about something like this.

How do you spend that much money going to Disney?
You consumer.

This temperature-checking shit shouldn't be happening in the first place. Pushes us one step closer to a police state. Even so, literally all he had to do was stand still for a few seconds. It's a stupid situation all around. *sigh*
He acts like they'd go the baby route and stick a thermometer up his ass. How uptight.

I'm extremely libertarian. I don't think the government should be able to require you to do a lot of what they're forcing people to do with Covid.

You are in a private park, rubbing shoulders with people from around the world, owned by one of the most image conscious companies in the world. They're not requiring an anal swab test, they're not even requiring an oral temperature check. They're scanning your head to make sure you don't have a fever. I'd understand if it was excessive, but man, some things aren't worth fighting against.

This is why I hate most libertarians. I don't think the government should be able to enforce invasive procedures like Covid tests that poke the nasal-brain barrier, or require proof of vaccination to cross state lines. Fighting over something as small as a temperature check just makes us all look bad.

This man is clearly not a sovereign citizen, he doesn't know his rights, he is however a semi self-aware consoomer who at least knows how much he spent on consooming, and as a bonus now he knows that in order to be treated like he expected to be he'd need at least a few more zeroes in that number.

Why would you spend money to go to Disney World at all if you don't like the Covid restrictions? There's no way you wouldn't know their protocols. Maybe he was dumb enough to think they'd waive the requirements just for him because he spent that much money and is a Disney stockholder. There are lots of people who act like douchebags to employees there thinking they're entitled to whatever they want because it's expensive or "disney magic" = customer service bending over backwards for guests.

No fuck that. The pandemic is bullshit amd COVID isn't going to murder your wife and kids. He didn't need to submit himself to a temperature test.
