I feel like they really should have gotten this guy on the stand BEFORE the bodycams were shown. This seems like it's leaning into the prosecution's original argument ("A counterfeit bill isn't a violent offense so the cops shouldn't have tried to arrest him") but by the time he was arrested he had already said on camera, "I wuz hoopin' earlier" and they already had grounds to arrest him because he was high. But iirc the prosecution has been trying to avoid this after the drugs became a big factor.

(I'm about 5 mins behind due to a meeting so anyone in the future please correct or confirm)

So is Chauvin going to get the electric chair based on some pencil pusher and credulous jurors doing some Monday night quarterbacking based on an impractically strict reading of some Pollyanna mission statement?

There is a big difference between ivory tower polycy writers and the actual training police recieve. You aren't taught "oh if this is a black guy on x amount of fent on the 3rd Sunday after a full moon you need to spin around 3 times before placing him in a reverse wrist lock while antagonising the mandibular pressure point on his left side". You are taught appropriate moves to overcome active resistance on a larger guy who is showing pressure point insensitivity. That is where all this shit will fall down, not was it by the letter of policy but was it within the training provided to officers by their own training department.

I want to see this guy's soporific sperging about MPD policy edited over footage of the riots.

"WE HAVE A DUTY TO TREAT THE CITIZENS OF MINNEAPOLIS WITH RESPECT."

Meanwhile, there are cops with ARs on the roof providing cover for the evacuation of the Third Precinct while protesters are setting fire to the place and the whole thing looks like the Fall of Saigon.

Been away a few days, is the prosecution still putting retarded children on the stand?
They brought on the chief of police and he started talking about the police's duty to protect the transgender community of Minneapolis. I wish I was shitposting. There was the ER doctor too, I believe? He basically got bamboozled into saying fentanyl can cause asphyxia.
