When I was a janny at IFGW I lobbied to get PTP removed as a topic because she thrived on being discussed and brought out all the other cluster Bs in the comments. Had we not nuked it when the TOS changed, she would have been banned like Diary of Lydia was just because it was too much work to keep up with the constant blogging and a-logging on posts about her.

When Jaquie died her former friend Julian quietly got her tube pulled, but less than a year later had gotten a new one installed. Skinwalker and Jan both doubled down, Jan even announcing an unnecessary invasive abdominal surgery in honor of Jaquie. I found Sarah-Jean entirely because she made a video mourning Jaquie then doubled down on her PortQuest and started purging on camera. Magically Mozart, another girl Jaquie knew in her early years, started giving herself major infections and probably got a port and tube she hasn't shown yet because she knows she will get backlash. She and Skinwalker were acively talking shit about Jaquie while jaquie was dying. Another Trevino patient starved herself and constipated herself with opiates until she nearly gave herself the exact same complication that killed Jaquie.

No one's mind is going to be changed by this. If anything it will cause a vacuum and they'll all clamor to fill it.

(I do have one example of what may have been a girl deciding not to let Trevino butcher her because Jaquie died, but I have to check my notes and see if the dates line up.)
Yeah, they'll all just go "omg, so sad, she was such a warrior, clearly they didn't help her like they should have, see hEDS kills, doctors suck, also please give me drugs and procedures doctors." Also PTP is interesting if you want a case study of Borderline personality dx, but the munch aspect is just props. The tube is physically real, but from what I can tell 100% not rx by her doc.

when i first started doing this i really thought I could show people the dangers in chronic illness social media circlejerks. I thought for the most part these were people who had real diseases but were being negatively influenced by people like Jaquie and ALF to give up on life, go for the most invasive treatments, and feel like they can no longer live their lives because they got a diagnosis. Therefore I thought if I could show these girls were exaggerating at best and outright lying at worst, that their behavior was totally inconsistent from one day to the next, and that this one-upping behavior was incredibly dangerous when the goalposts were major surgeries and bouts of sepsis, they might take a look in the mirror and realize how self-defeating they were being. Then I realized these girls know they're not sick, they know they're doing this on purpose, they're not being manipulated into anything, and they don't care if one of their own dies other than as an opportunity to reap asspats and "sorry 4 ur loss" comments.

So I can't be too sympathetic to these people. Their families, sure, because as we saw with Paige's mom even the most obvious faker with a bad personality and no concern for herself or anyone else is still someone's daughter and that mamma bear instinct to provide for and protect her cubs doesn't go away. But the girls themselves know exactly what they're doing and don't care about the risks. Foodie Beauty said something a few days ago that applies here: she knows she's going to die if she doesn't stop, but she doesn't really believe it. It's so abstract and in the future to her, even as her body is failing, because "well you said that last week and I'm still here." I think every time these girls survive another bout of sepsis or another surgery it just makes them feel more in control of the situation and immortal.

Pretty sad how reliable the EDS and Munchie connection is. This "Rebecca" from the UK sounds like an EDS munchie to me and isn't that IF cow named Rebecca, in her 30s and lives in the UK? Could it be her in this article?

lOnG cOvId. Jesus fuck. Why do I get the feeling that we are condemned to never hearing the end of this from every munchie near and far. I'm already cringing in advance.

You're right about that, other munchies will use this to their end and keep on. It's just like the pro-ED crowd. It doesn't scare them away, it provides an opportunity for them to appropriate someone else's trauma to make it all about themselves, aspiring to be such a sacred holy CI martyr, worshiping and one-upping each other into competitive oblivion. RIP Amy.

I know this isn’t technically Munchausen’s, but the most baffling Morgellon’s Group popped up, complete with revered group leader mentoring them via a swift push towards his miracle cure, a fenbenzadole and vitamin medley that he does not sell...leading me to question what nefarious motive he could have? (Although megalomania is a thing, I figured he’d have some financial incentive).

It is a dewormer medication that has actually shown some promising Results in human cancer, anecdotally. The frightening thing is that medical providers aren’t being informed of this regimen, and any potential interactions that could occur, IMO.

Anyway, fellow Kiwis, I wonder if I could post it here, or would I need to go the OP creation > Proving Grounds route? Full disclaimer, plenty of disgusting photos are littered throughout this shitshow, but I don’t have the stomach for the worst of them. I do love a good Morgellon’s case, though, and miss LiveJournal solely for the plentiful offerings available.

Hey, can someone refresh my memory...are we following a Disney munchie with a SD named Nala? If so, what is her name?

I just saw a video on FB that is about a SD who "loves" Disney and immediately wondered if she was one of our munchies, but I don't want to post the girl's name or video in case she's legit. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if she's one of them.

I'd say morgellon's fits in here (and also I want to see this because I love Morgellons crazies and thought they had gone extinct)

Yes, I've documented Megan and Nala. Megan has BPD but also claims autism now because BPD is not a reason to get a service dog, and has started to move on to physical diseases now that she lives with two zebra EDS munchies. She spends her entire life at disney with her two dogs (because why have just one?) Nala and a new poodle puppy named Zazu, her room is full of stuffed toys and she watches Disney movies on a constant loop. She chimps out constantly and believes she can dictate how every other person in the world interacts with her.

Part 1 | 2

(I will hand it to her that her dog is very well trained and from people who have seen her IRL she is actually pretty enthusiastic and happy to work)

Yup. Megan is the munch in the video. I have no idea how to link it but it's just a fluff piece from Rocky Kanaka. Nothing we don't already know.

It already is, if my facebook feed is anything to go by. Complete with people also diagnosing their kids with long haul covid -- no positive covid test at any time required.
long covid is the cherry on top of the COVID hysteria shit sundae.

Zero objective evidence for it; claimed symptoms overlap 100% with anxiety; idiot reporters sourcing from fb groups...it's the munchie's wet dream.

She seems to attract the same type of people as r/fakedisordercringe, who have to talk about their diagnosis every 2 seconds to prove that they’re the best and most legit autistic/cluster b/did bitch. If it weren’t for the fake nose hose I’d say they have zero reason to be in munchsnark at all. If MS kept their posts on her limited to the feeding tube and other physical health issues I wouldn’t be bothered because she’d hardly ever be posted.
I think part of why she gets so much more attention there is because a lot of people have a lot of feelings about Alex. I feel bad that he ever met her, but he lets her do all this. He’s apparently moving out of state and bringing her with him. All the concern for Alex is fuckin annoying.

I came across this person on dog TikTok! I ended up watching a lot of her toks because Nala is so cute in her Mickey ears and sunglasses. She seems like a very good girl. I didn't think much about the owner, but there was a series where she was in an argument with a family that felt like their gremlin should be able to pet the doggy because they were spending so much money to be at Disneyworld. The owner got them kicked out of the attraction. Which I felt was fair. Teaching shitty people not to touch dogs they don't know is a generally good idea.

Her TikTok is @helperdognala

I 100 percent agree. It has been proven over and over again she echo's what is said on MS. When people "remind her of her diseases" she will write on Tumblr about them. I have 0 sympathy for Alex. He could of dropped her off at an inpatient and never looked back. What really has infuriated me is MS has feed into her travelling all over the place during COVID. The one good thing IF has done is banned discussion on her.

AAAAND right on time, guess who's back, back again. Good ol' Tina couldn't resist showing up after ALF died. She is shameless. The photoshop on this is embarrassing, as usual.

Some acutely ill people do test positive for a long time. I've seen people test 12+ weeks positive and be sick with it. Long COVID is real. It's not common, but does happen. (I consider anything after 3 weeks to be long COVID.)

Yeah a friend of mine ended up in the hospital weeks after she recovered, still testing positive and having lung issues, and I've seen studies where people are still symptomatic and testing positive for months. It's a nasty virus.

But it's going to be like neurolyme - a real thing that happens to some people who get Lyme Disease that becomes a favorite munchie claim because it sounds very scary but also plausible.

There may also be some people with longer term lung scaring if it follows what research has shown so far with SARS / MERS.

Also deconditioning and stress (both big issues in current lockdowns / restrictions) is genuinely mistaken for ongoing illness by many patients.

I have a vague memory of watching a documentary about a town where lots of girls started with neuro symptoms and the debate whether it was Lyme or social contagion? Although I'm now wondering if I smushed it together in my imagination from reading recent discussions here.
