Right-wing commentator Andy Ngo claims to have fled the United States over alleged threats from left-wing activists.

In an interview published by Fox News on Monday, Ngo, the editor-at-large for the right-wing outlet the Post Millennial, stated that he left the country earlier this year due to “an escalation of safety concerns.”

“It was just not safe anymore for me,” Ngo said. “I had already been on borrowed time.”

Ngo has made a name for himself among conservatives for his coverage of left-wing protests. Critics point to Ngo’s history of manipulating media and spreading misinformation.

In a tweet regarding the interview, Ngo suggested that he had no choice but to leave after left-wing activists “tried to kill me” but did not provide further details. Ngo did not mention which country he allegedly moved to either.

Unsurprisingly, Ngo’s alleged departure has been met with relief by his fans and celebration by his detractors on social media.

Ngo shot to prominence following the election of President Donald Trump and became a household name after being attacked by alleged left-wing activists during a 2019 rally in Portland, Oregon.

He has a bias, but he's done more legit journalism the last few years than many of the big networks.

It's beyond insanity the national news networks have glossed over almost a year of constant property damage and violence from Antifa. Plus the fallout from people who live in the area who are seeing businesses close and insurance costs skyrocket around them.

It brings cognitive dissonance to a whole new level when a city is literally on fire behind them and reporters still call them, "mostly peaceful protests."

I can't even tell. He just reports what's happening. Sure, he leans on one side, but you don't really notice.

Damn shame that he went to exile, but is probably for the best. The Portland government literally did nothing to protect its citizens.

Journalism is dead now. Best of luck, Ngo. Thanks for being a reliable, raw source of information.

Do you think this will reduce the number of random accusations of "being any ngo" levelled at random chinese men who happen to be walking past the protests of peace?

And there is nothing wrong with having a bias. He makes it no secret. The problems start when a biased news reader insists that they are not biased and that the mere suggestion is a sign if some deep problem.

Just admit it. No big deal. Someone like Hannity is as much a charlatan as the rest of them but infinitely more useful at his job because you clearly know his frame of reference; unlike a Maddow that needs to have it all ways every day unless it is inconvenient.

I love that it's not the attacks that are alleged, but the fact that Antifa is apparently only "allegedly" left-wing activists.

Yeah, Twitter is public. They are publically threatening his life on Twitter, but because they are left-wing they get away with it.

they can't even bring themselves to calling him a journalist despite being apparently a better journalist than anyone who works for the daily dot
Probably for the better. Journalists are propaganda whores who think calling them "fake news" is like calling them the n word (seriously, at least one of them is on record as having said this).

I can't say I'm mega familiar with his story, but I'm not seeing the supposed bias people are claiming. Doesn't he just, you know... report the facts? I guess if you're used to backing the nigteam, accurate reporting of facts IS bias (to truth.)

All the more pathetic when you remember that several mainstream outlets complained about being "oppressed" under Trump, yet they had more influence, budget, coverage and protection than Ngo ever had.

You are correct.

Most of these hysterical leftists don't want any awkward truth to be exposed because, for them, that's the equivalent of rallying the KKK to a black man's home to get him lynched.

Did ya catch that double standard? They are alleged death threats when their opposition claims to have received them but they are completely factual and valid whenever some leftist claims they get them.

...maybe it's just me, or maybe it's some kind of Berenstein/stain thing going on, but I could've sworn before his coverage of antifa he was known to be about as left-wing as beanie man.
