Do marriages based on emotional sentimental attachment last? Of course they do, but someone who suffers from many personality disorders wouldn't know that.

Sexual prowess wanes with time. If a man is only about sex, he can get it more diverse and with less obligations.
Sexual prowess does not wane with time. The absence of signs of physical aging is not the only sexual fetish that men have. There are many reasons that men select older women. I could name common sexual fetishes of men toward older women and the advantages of sex with a woman over the age of 25, over the age of 30, over the age of 40 and over the age of 50, but I don't want to get into a debate about details.
Also, your comment assumes that there are no poor men. Men would be under the same threat of being traded in for a richer man, so I don't agree that this kind of arrangement would put women on the losing end.
Men can also lose their ability to maintain erections, experience hair loss and no amount of wealth can save a man from that reality which determines whether or not a younger woman sees him as compatible.
Your comment also assumes that divorce is allowed or that women would select a man over the age of 60 to be the potential father of her children. Most women would not do that, even if he was rich, because the man is at risk for not living long enough to raise his own offspring long term.
Also, a lot of women don't want to be caretakers of an elderly husband or deal with his health issues. So again, I don't see the kind of arrangement being a disadvantage for women.
