Oh god, the amount of circlejerking is one of the most frustrating things about hearing them talk about their "music". In a stream (15:05), Conrad and Riley argued against comments being open (I thought Conrad had learned his lesson about closing comments but, alas). At some point, Riley says something like "you don't need to comment, either you like it or don't like it..you don't know why you do or don't like it, or you would be making your own music". No, a person doesn't need to make music to know yours is shit, Riley.

Conrad actually says "people who aren't there for music will try to offer constructive criticism on it because they don't like it" is a reason for them to shut down comments. Their heads are so far up their own asses they can't even grapple with the concept of criticism. They really think taking advantage of inactive subs on what was previously an anime channel is a valid way to gain traction for their low-effort, low-quality shite. But all they end up doing is racking up dislikes and confused commenters. Sorry, but their combined IQs must be in the single digits. The PCP were at least grounded enough to decipher which videos were garbage.

That is actually nothing new and also the reason why community posts were abused for a time to gain massive views/engagement. The algorithm notified anyone that was the potential target audience of a channel, even if you weren't subscribed. iE a kid that watched many minecraft channels was notified of other minecraft/gaming channels via community post. There was a whole wave of "gaming the system" started by spiffing brit and some others that led to massive wave of community post shilling to drive engagement.

In your case, the algorithm saw that you engaged with digis previous content, thus you got notified of that community post despite being unsubbed.
