The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

How much of a financial disaster was TLoU2 that they have to rinse the original for sales again?
Wonder why they're remaking the first game when it only has two? I fear how they'll portray Joel as an irredeamble monster in it. I'm glad Bill didn't show up in the sequel because he would've been vilified for not trusting abby and her friends and they'll probably turn him into a campy gay guy. He's gay in the first game, it's just that the game was subtle about it.

The TV series is coming out, they're going to want to promote it.

Remaking TLOU1 is just a stupid idea anyway. It seriously doesn't need it, it still holds up pretty well visually, and it ALREADY got remastered for PS4 (and thus it's playable via backwards compatibility on PS5).

Only reason I can think of for doing this is to tie it into the TV show, and to possibly release a PC version alongside it. Oh and maybe Druckmann just really wants to go back and do TLOU1 the way he wanted without people like Straley there to rein in his faggotry.

Yes but telling people to go search out a used PS4 copy when they like the TV show doesn't translate as well as "go and buy a new PS5 Remake of TLOU1 and a new PS5 system while you're at it".

The TV shows exist as commercials to sell video games and hardware.

You don't need to search for a copy though, you can literally just buy it on the PS store - well, assuming Sony doesn't decide to take down PS4 games or anything stupid like that, which after recent events I'm not completely ruling out. In fact, I believe it was even one of the free PS+ games.

I'm still questioning who could even still care about TLOU in general after 2 took a flamethrower to the entire franchise, and I don't exactly have a lot of faith in the TV show either. I think an Uncharted 1 remake would have made more sense because even though I love that game, it's definitely aged.

Not to mention that the mocap actor for Jerry in TLOU2 tweeted that he's been working on motion capture for a new video game at ND, and said that it wasn't for DLC for TLOU2. I guess that would explain what he's working on then.

There's also the possibility that they pull a Blizzard, by making copies or installations of the original TLOU unplayable when the TLOU1 remake is installed or comes out.

You have people who are willing to watch Star Trek Discover Season 3 and whatever new Disney Wars come out.

You know who else is crazy about remakes? Hollywood. Where is Hollywood? California. Where is Sony HQ? California.

I swear, something fucky in that water.

And we don't talk about Capcom. They are an enigma.
Heavy LSD usage often can cause you to relive vivid memories over and over.

I'd bet a pretty large amount of money that in the remake Joel's character will be re written to be significantly less sympathetic and more of a murderous asshole to justify Abby's actions in TLOU2.

Also it's been pointed out that in the ending Abby's dad comes at Joel with a scalpel and ignores Joel's demand to drop the weapon which makes her actions in the second game seem extreme and shitty so that will probably be changed to him surrendering and Joel shooting him anyway or some shit.

Agreed with everyone here- why in the world do they need to remake TLOU2, especially as they released a remastered version of it in 2014?

Are we gonna get more Druckkmann meddling in the plot and recons to justify Joel's death? Alternatively, we could be likely seeing a version of TLOU more closely resembling the HBO TV series, since they'd want to tie into that.

IMO, why not remake Uncharted 1-3? As good as their graphics were back then, they really haven't held up.

Because Druckmann has made it very clear he envisions Abby as the series protagonist going forward and he needs to retcon the first game to make her seem less like a fucking psychopath.

It sounds unlikely, the scenario that's most possible is that they do an ass pull and stuff starts being negated from TLOU2.

The TV shows sounds like it's going to be the game beat for beat except it's going to be stretched out over like a season. I don't think any game remake is going to heavily deviate since it's being directly tied to something that the parent company itself is making.

I don't think Druckmann has that level of control to majorly fuck things up like he had on TLOU2, there's way more people above him that have their fingers in the pot. He also needed to get his ass saved when the leaks happened and they were forced to move up Ghosts of Tsushima to cover his losses.

I hope they remove any sort of nuance from the scene where Joel kills Abby's dad. Just have Joel say specifically "I'm a bad man I'm going to kill you good-intentioned doctor fuck you doctoorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then smash his head open with a bowling ball. Joel looks into the camera and tells the player "I'll kill your parents, too!"

It's really sad this this is only a slightly more hyperbolic and exaggerated version of several scenes in TLOU2 that actually exist.

Troy Baker got so mad that no one was talking about Part 2 giving them feels that he had to be autistic in Loot Crate's Instagram comments section.

Sneaky edit to add: His comment is because one person commented negatively towards the game from what I can tell. One person caused this reaction in a thread where 5 or 6 others were positive about the game.

I guarantee you that they're doing this to assassinate Joel's character some more. That way they can get new fans who will react "appropriately" (i.e. not upset) towards his death when they then play Part 2.

Troy Baker is such a pretentious fag.

Nolan North is better anyway. If he's a sperg, he at least keeps it private.

I remembered when Nolan North was talking about TLOU2's ending. Nolan talked about what if Ellie actually killed Abby, The argument was brought up that Lev would have witnessed it, and would lead the cycle of violence to continue. Nolan then said that Ellie could also easily kill Lev too, to leave no witnesses to the act, and also end the cycle of violence as well. (I thought it was Nolan debating it with Troy, but it was with someone else, it was this clip.)

And the irony of that is that Abby's friends dying could have easily been prevented, if they disregarded Owen wanting to spare Ellie, Dina, and Tommy, after the Joel In One, and finished them off to, to leave no witnesses.

It's funny that all this sony drama is circeling around TLOU again, who would have tought that Sony's autistic obsession with it would infect everything under them to the point where people are leaving because of it?

I think that dude he's talking to is a TLOU speedrunner or something?

This was all after Troy took his ball and went home, thinking it would kill the Retro Replay channel. Instead, it improved. Dude was insufferable in TLOU Part 1 let's play they did in particular.

Ellen will tug at his sleeve and say "Joel we should trust the experts!" and he will respond with "Fuck you hail hitler maga" and shoots the doctor, just as a whole group of small children burst through the doors to thank the doctor for saving their lives
