Hard to say as unlike with most people chimpouts are the reuglar for him. I mean yeah he was always like this but before it was pretty minimal, but now? He keeps going on about his "tits" (jim, in your case, there moobs, not tits) and how he wants to, but cant, get naked on youtube like its something his viewers want to see. Of course hes losing subs.

I don't believe it's in his nature to make up his mind about anything, at least not by subjecting his beliefs to long-term scrutiny. Like many of his kind, he is the perpetual, contrarian child that ills our society so. He's only consistent in being inconsistent. I believe that he truly believes in what he's doing right now, but it's just a shallow conviction on his part. I wonder what it will take for him to realize just how far he's fallen, and to take steps in rectifying it?

Huh, now, I don't mean to be that guy but wouldn't it be more beneficial to put one's business first rather than themself.

I just always thought that the idea of the Jimquisition was to fight for the consumer and shed light on shitty video game practices.

That's what it used to be about Jim, it was about shitty publishers and even shittier ways that games try to market themselves. That's a fine tack and it's still relevant. But you know what isn't relevant? Trying to be some kind of non binary Che Guevara in 2021, it's literally impossible to be 100% anti corporate pro consumer, because if you were you would be reaching far less people on a day to day basis because you wouldn't have a phone or twitter or own a business. You'd have your own homestead and would grow just enough to get by.

You might very well be correct; it's just that I have a hard time to even fathom going to such lengths for the sole purpose of creating a "plausible reason" for shifting focus of ones professional endeavors into a painfully unprofessional form of wrestling, and the most vile and puerile form of champagne socialist commentary there is. Imagine even having these ambitions in the first place, which is bad enough, but to then take a step further and come to the conclusion that you should troon out to achieve them. It just beggars belief.

I don’t think it’s to do with lower and viewers but I think it’s more to do with wanting to be taken more seriously/listened to.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It cant be about views or subscribers because his post trans numbers are lower than ever. So long as his core patreon audience keep paying he can shift his content to primarily talking about alphabet people in the game industry and still be seen as an authority. I dont think he'll ever stop talking about games because that's what he built his platform on, I just think he'll change his angle from the tired capitalism bad his content has focussed on forever.

Jim feels trapped in a niche he now hates. He's done and he knows it. He doesn't have the guts to quit and start making a living as a political pundit or a wrestling pundit. Even if he did, he'd have no clout since he's a cis het white male gamer with a large patreon and enough "problematic" things in his past that he could be cancelled at any moment.

It makes sense that this was just a means of getting twitter asspats and relevance when even his biggest supporters are getting sick of copy pasted content. I'm asking unironically, since I was lead to believe that the exact opposite is true, no matter one's political leanings. It's basically displaying to the entire world "I'm seriously mentally unwell, so maybe you should keep your distance." A kind of psychological aposematism.

I'm very much inclined to believe that you're right in your assessment of James' reasons for his ludicrous behavior. If he has any self-awareness left then he knows he has zero job prospects outside of his current profession. The wrestling stuff is dead in the water because he has neither the skill or likeability to make it professionally in that sphere. His consumer advocacy in gaming niche is his only option, but he hates video games now so that's out. Sadly that probably is his best option if he can't halt his decline. He's childless, so he doesn't have kids to provide for. At his weight likely means he's only has about 20 years left anyway. Normally for a guy who's only 37 he would be best saving to start a small business to circumvent his unemployability. That might be worth a try but would probably just be burning money given his current lack of business skill. That said, I still see him trying to hold onto his internet fame. His ego means he'll probably keep going long after he should have quit if other cows are any indication.
