Japanese manga has always had these flavors in it. Because it's a bit of a fetish for people to read about someone who isn't in on the whole uniformity that is deeply entwined in Japanese culture (which is part of the reason why yaoi and yuri became popular and why "fujoshi" became something to mock BL fans). I question if the characters in the series actually question what they -and their cuture- accept about gender or if it's one of those "this person is this person no matter what" that kinda handwaves the situation. It could also be the translation team doing whatever they God damn please as well.

There's been popular mpreg manga since the 80s/90s and one of them is being made into a drama for Netflix. Crossdressing and individuals who don't necessarily conform to the normal Japanese norms are also very popular.

Manga has been degenerate for decades, it just has been one of those things that people don't talk about. Until now.

Even still, the title and premise from Wikipedia reads like something you'd hear from some leftist or an American expat or someone working at ANN trying to break into the manga insustry. Or like some anime inspired webcomic. The point is that this "Love Me For Who I Am" looks like something to lecture about things like gender and LGBT issues and make people feel bad for seeing such things as stereotypes, fodder for jokes and fap bait. Just very preachy in an industry that didn't have that widescale and started to gain ground in the West BECAUSE that was nowhere to be found.

The fact that you can find this and things like "Redo of a Healer" in manga tells you how wide the format is. The fact that one is more successful than the other also tells you a lot. Anime & manga has a history of pandering to people that will buy their stuff. There is a market for LGBTQ political material and there's a market for fap material. I think you can easily guess which market is larger. I just wish America was willing to let the market truly decide what they want.

What additional argument did Vic need to make? At least for defamation, Vic hit the arguments he needed to, in that he showed the elements of defamation. Things like TI against Marchi were very weak, but her case has always been weak.
