The cop fucked up standard procedure by mistaking her firearm for a Tazer. You call out Tazer, but start firing a bullet, you're bound to be liable or cause serious damage. Fortunately, depending on how you look at it, this incident occurred when the victim decided to evade the police. Said victim had an outstanding warrant and prior charges.

UNFORTUNATELY, this was meant to be a routine traffic shop. What if it wasn't a criminal? What if she shot somebody innocent? In the crossfire? If she's a senior officer, that's a simple, yet costly mistake that shouldn't happen given her experience.

Somebody mentioned that if a similar incident happened ten, twenty or so years ago, this would've been covered up. Now, the reverse is happening. Only a matter of time before the media and BLM covers up his prior criminal history and damning Facebook evidence to paint him as an absolute victim,

It's a mess all around. Since we're dealing with absolutes now, nobody learns a lesson.

The taser must be holstered near the gun and have a similar shape, which could be easily avoided in general. Put the gun and taser holsters on opposite sides so this doesn't happen. Its all just fucking retarded though, she was fairly hysterical when a competent officer needs to be able to keep a level head. Maybe she was fine in prior instances, but she obviously didn't have a level head here. Women shouldn't be cops because they just can't maintain their composure in tough situations. Most men struggle to have the right temperament for it, and women are far worse in stressful situations. I don't feel particularly bad for the kid honestly, he was a dumbass for trying to run away in the car like he did, and he seemed like a hoodrat, but this bitch has incited riots out of her own incompetency. I wouldn't charge her as she isnt a threat to the general population, but she should absolutely be fired and is a testament to how putting women in the field is a mistake.

Her partner is shown wearing his taser cross-draw on the opposite side of his body, so she'd have to be a retard ahead of time rather than just turning into one under stress to purposely wear hers on the same side as her gun. The way I can see this happening is that her muscle memory just went for her gun with her right hand, since if you're wearing the taser crossdraw you'd be drawing both with your dominant hand. The solution to that is just to mandate tasers be carried on your weak side conventionally so that you're forced to draw it with your weak hand and it's a little tougher to confuse the two. I don't particularly care about the victim here but even though I certainly don't think the female cop meant to kill anyone I wouldn't be particularly broken up if she got some lesser manslaughter charge since at the end of the day her incompetence got someone killed who probably shouldn't have been.

Yes, she did. She even positions herself as the other officer moves out of her way. The prongs don't always stick, so I'm assuming she was trying to get closer to increase the chances of successfully tasing him. She fires, realizes what she did, AND DROPS HER GUN. Total panic.
