Streamlink download and info

All you need to do is use command prompt and you are good to go. Here is my settings

"https://www.youtube etc" this is the link to the stream
best this is the quality, setting it to best will set it to the best available

pressing enter then gets you this:

You can set as many to download/record as you want. Just use another Command Prompt window and set another stream to download. As long as you have the bandwidth to download as fast as they are uploading (rarely over 1mb/s) you can set as many to download as you want.
But you need to open another command prompt window and not use the same window.
It will also not download/record backwards in time. It will only download/record FROM WHEN YOU START IT. If the stream cuts out, it will stop and you'll have to put in a new link or the same link if it continues on the same link after going down for a second.

Adding another method since Streamlink doesn't seem to work for some sites, like Trovo. You can use youtube-dl to extract the streams data (supports almost any site you can think of) and ffmpeg to download them:
Bash: 
$ youtube-dl --list-formats [your-stream-link]
$ ffmpeg -i $(youtube-dl -f [format-number] -g [your-stream-link]) -c copy [file-name].ts
cmd1.png


The .ts file is just a special video file format designed for streams, you can open it in most video players. To convert it to a regular .mp4 after the stream ends:
Bash: 
$ ffmpeg -i [file-name].ts [new-file-name].mp4

Bitwave streams aren't supported by ytdl however they're just regular HLS streams that can be downloaded like this:
Bash: 
$ ffmpeg -headers "Referer: https://bitwave.tv/[bitwave-username]" -i "https://cdn.stream.bitwave.tv/hls/[bitwave-username]/index.m3u8" -c copy [file-name].ts

Both of these work on Windows as well but ShareX is your best bet if you don't want to use the command line

Do you know of any technique for downloading specific parts of an ongoing stream like ip2's clipper?
I know for VOD you can use something like
youtube-dl -v [YT LINK] -k -f [FORMAT-NUMBER] --external-downloader ffmpeg --external-downloader-args "-ss [START TIMESTAMP] -to [END TIMESTAMP]"
The only problem even with this technique is that while it looks fine on your media player as soon as you upload it to Kiwifarms the video has a delay and the audio no longer matches it. Do you know of any fix for this as well?

Have you tried running the video through Handbrake? Sometimes converting the video helps with issues like that

For VOD I use supposing i want a 8s clip from 00:01:52 to 00:02:00
ffmpeg $(youtube-dl -g 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=' | sed 's/.*/-ss 00:01:51 -i &/') -t 9 -strict -2 -c copy _clip.mp4

Notice _clip is one second longer, this is so we can run this to remove the first few frames and reencode the clip

This usually removes any issues.
Also a good alternative to youtube-dl which also supports sites like Trovo is https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp

I just love his hair. How mentally ill do you have to be in order to go completely bald on top, and NOT run a pair of clippers across the sides and back every month or so? How can he just let it grow out like that?
