Straight white academics are always teetering on the edge of cancellation and anyone who isn’t a Pee Oh Cee or trans person is going to be constantly under the microscope in her sphere. Especially if they have a not so PC past. It’s kind of a shame since I think if she kept her mouth shut and stayed out of the angry sjw Twitter woke sphere she could have had a smaller yet loyal following a la Todd in the Shadows.
She could have just kept on doing what Doug made her do, talk about things from a woman's perspective and make fun of Michael Bay and macho shit, and at most, she'll just end up like Doug; someone with a smaller, but loyal following. But she just had to try and make herself a feminist icon to mooch off the SJW movement, and the problem is, outside of the left's intolerance for dissent, the left is always re-inventing itself. What was hip with them in the past (eroticism, using sex appeal to lure men away from monogamous relationships) is now verboten. (ie. feminists cramping down on things that titillate men, whereas back then they used that as part of girl power.)
It's ironic that leftist essentially end up creating some of their biggest enemies just because of how reactionary unreasonable they can be.
They believe that people can just say that they are something and that Society just has to accept it no matter what.

And yet ironically enough, if you impose a real black and white morality upon the left, like say, ancient Christian morals, they'd call you a bigot and a narrow-minded old fart. If this was any more ironic, we'd have a plane crashing on a museum made for aviation disasters.
Every political struggle ever since the American and French revolutions has been nothing but the old left vs. the new left. The old left would include classical liberals, libertarians, anarcho-capitalists, and the like, while the new left are the socialists, communists, feminists, and SJWs. And as I said, even among Communists, there's a massive difference between the macho, Red Guard Commies of old who overthrew monarchies and democracies by force, and the modern Commie Pinkos coming out of the universities and protesting in a free country where the cops would get in trouble if they opened fire. And of course, the former hate the latter with the fiery intensity of a million Foreman Grills. The Chinese Communists even have an insult for modern leftists in the west, "Baizuo", or "white left", AKA, a western liberal (usually white) who advocates for social justice, peace, and equality so they can feel morally superior to everyone.
Lindsay is enough of a Baizuo that the old-guard Commies would see her as scum, but she's not far left enough that most of the Baizuo here in the west would accept her wholeheartedly. Especially since she's used to criticizing whatever she wants, and the modern left does not tolerate criticism without calling their critics "manbabies", "racists", "sexists", or "Alt-Right". Lindsay makes one small comment (an accurate one) about how Asian-style western animation is becoming hip in the YA demographic, and she uses the word "squinting" by accident, and suddenly, she's the equivalent of a Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard to them.
I see Lindsay as a narcissist with few/no moral convictions of her own. She will just say and do whatever it takes to get ahead. These kind of people terrify me. If she had been born in 1930s Germany she would have become Leni Riefenstahl.
Lindsay is a closeted TERF third-wave feminist. She hates the creepy low-status men in wigs piggybacking off fourth-wave feminism, but lacks the integrity or courage to call it out. Instead, she plays along
She clearly has a preference for leftist SJW talk, but she isn't that far to the left, which is why she's getting attacked right now. If she were in 1930s Germany, she'd be the equivalent of those who had lukewarm support for the Nazis, only to be harassed/attacked by them when she inevitably criticizes the Fuhrer for something.
Yeah I don’t buy for a second she is as woke and tolerant as she claims she is. All the trans stuff and anti-JKR crap she’s put out recently seems like compensating for her own TERFy beliefs to please the libfem woke Twitter crowd that sign her checks. She got deep in with them, whereas back then under Doug's tenure, she was at most, just another comedian on a website that at the time, wasn't really leaning too far to the right or the left. She thought she could piggyback on the SJW movement to gain for herself some clout, not realizing that the SJWs are less like a party you can join or criticize at anytime, and more like a hive mind that ironically sees any form of dissent against them as fascist.
