I typically bitch about the other end of annoying spergout weeaboos like anime elitists and ANN because while the spergs can tend to have fans who wish they were genetically and spiritually/race souled Japanese, they were the fans who wanted to want to do shit with their enthusiasm and hobby, and though there's plenty of nutcases and lolcows to the "glorious nippon" bleeding self hating morons, there's more of an innocence/tabula rasa of the more sane them growing beyond their diehard fan phase.

Elite and "tasteful" fans however, are douchey snooty faggots who treat their hobby like a guilty pleasure and have always been hipster cred seeking loser assholes who are nothing but egotistical winner's side seeking suck ups and weak willed wussasses off the screen. In all of my life, the "elite" fans have always been consumerist self entitled and spoiled assholes who think their hobbies entitle them to karen out on about how Japan should cater to their tastes, have always been talentless and undriven slacker losers who always seek the easy way out in life, have always been closet racists/ethnocentrists who treat anime as a minstrel show, and in all of my bleeding heart, never touched upon how historically, culturally, and impactful to the human condition anime has been, nor go the extent to understand the "otaku soul" or the virtue of sincerity/makoto that oozes from anime. As I've said before in the ANN thread, this all was a very compatible mindset for the oncoming Grade A USA borne SJW/woke and Atheism and "pop nerd" tripe they'd all come to want to eat down the line. Oh, and to put the cherry on this shit sundae, these dipshits don't even acknowledge how important or significant it is to their nation and its ever continuing history at all.

Everyone's gonna roll their eyes at me about how I'm taking anime too seriously, and that anime "shouldn't be the main gateway to Japanese culture because pop culture = trash culture", but that's always been the problem. Weeaboos get their name not because they like Japan way too hard, they get their moniker from being clueless and ignoramus douches and dumbasses who don't bother to relate to the humanity anime and all of its forms comes to give, let alone in their own lives. Fast forward to now and wokeness/cancel culture has completely obliterated that comradeship. It's no longer about or for the fans,you've got people setting booths up at cons to raise money for sex changes,you have panels where VAs shame scold fans who dare criticize them. I tried out rollerblading because of Cardcaptors lol. Never got to be able to rollerblade to school and such, but at least I enjoyed skating. And because the dub made her more of a tomboy, I attempted more tomboyish things, which was also similar to how Sora in Digimon was like (but P.E. was still hell). Oddly enough, never tried to get better at baton twirling.

Becoming more like Tohru Honda became a life-goal in high school, though. She was so sweet, friendly, loving, and tolerant for her own good and seemed too perfect, but I might've misread her or something because I guess I became more of an airhead. Probably not helped it took me years to finish the manga anyway so I hadn't really properly hit the drama and the heart of the matter, but even as an adult, I can still appreciate her as a character.

Well, at least Pokémon and Digimon (and Yu-Gi-Oh, somewhat) had taught me the importance of friendship and loyalty, even if it made me think I had way more friends in school than I might've actually did. I also started singing more because of the "2.B.A. Master" album lol, then finding the original Digimon Japanese songs in high school really cemented it for me.

That wasn't my experience at all until recently, of course being from a bumfuck state which hardly ever got conventions everyone was always really stoked when one came around. Of course you're always gonna have the know it all purist who thinks they are the high chieftain who passes judgement upon anime taste but mostly it was just people coming together to enjoy their hobby with others,meet new friends with similar interests and have a place to let lose geek out and have fun, it's a different atmosphere now. Dragon ball actually got me lifting weights and into MMA in middle/high school hell most of our baseball/basketball team were closet weebs.

If anything, this KickVic is making me appreciate that there are fans who not only support Vic, but realize that Japanese anime is a unique and special version of animation that kids and young adults can even appreciate.

Watching Kaiji and Serial Experiments Lain over the years made me realize that these people are using these social media platforms for “cancel culture” mainly to try to gamble on trying to destroy someone‘s career and life, only for it to constantly backfire on their faces.

And they still can’t seem to get rid of social media while claiming that Vic is still wrong, while he’s still doing his own thing. Vic is more of a true weeb that this group of people will ever be.

Indie games are where it's at. A lot of the time they're free or a couple bucks and you get to see if you like a particular genre without shelling out 60$. Mad Father got ported to the Switch recently and there's rumors of a continuation because of BLOOD and IF modes you unlock after completing the game. I rather support an individual or a small team making an RPG Maker style of game in their spare time than a large company that'll have to patch the brand new supposedly triple-whatever title in the first 24hr upon release.
