Yes. But even though such cases may technically qualify as first degree murder, juries usually convict of something lesser. In theory premeditation can occur in the instant someone decides to kill someone and then does it. Juries usually want something more, like you fired a bunch of shots into someone, determined they were helpless, then shot them execution style anyway.

I remember there was also an argument (dunno if it was in the trial proper or just on the internet), that the language says "dangerous to others" as in others, plural, and since Chauvin was only dangerous to Floyd, singular, 3rd degree shouldn't be valid. Dunno if I'd buy that argument, but a defense is a defense.

This was the argument from the Noor case, and the majority disagreed with it, but the dissent found otherwise. The majority is the binding opinion now, but is on appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court (dissent is at bottom). It won't be decided until after Chauvin's trial, so the majority in Noor currently applies but if the MN Supremes overrule and adopt the dissent's view, that will probably apply on appeal.

We all are taking a journey in life. The most unhappy individuals are the ones who believe they have already reached their destination. People who wander to far into extremism are lost.

This whole post was a bunch of wisdom and I'm sorry if this comes off as nitpicking, but a contrary opinion would hold that happiness can come when you stand atop the mountain, but unhappiness definitely will come when you either give up on the mountain entirely or when the climb never ends.

In other words, your happiness comes through hard work that results in a tangible goal that you can be truly proud of.

My partial theory of why the troons are so desperately unhappy is that their journey is as impossible as crossing the Sahara alone on foot, where they see a low dune and they stroll up that dune and from that modest summit they see yet another low dune... the transition journey is all low dunes with no end. All they're seeing is the next low dune and they think that's the goal, then they get there and realize that there is more. They can climb a hundred dunes and not make any appreciable progress towards the goal because the goal of changing sex is impossible. It's a death march into a wasteland. And to be charitable, by this analogy, failing isn't so much a lack of character as it is a lack of realistic goal-setting at the outset.

Unlike the "hiking across the Sahara" troons, the BLM cult falls apart under scrutiny because it has no tangible goals, and having no tangible goals in the first place, it never makes progress towards anything other than enriching its founders.

With the amount of money the national org has, the legal world is their oyster.

• Diversion programs for first time or low-level offenders.
• Jail literacy programs.
• Encouraging the hiring of police chaplains and psych teams to go with the cops on sensitive calls.
• Statewide decriminalization of certain forms of sex work and diversionary programs for other forms (not popular among the TERFs but certainly useful for keeping black women and "women" from catching charges).
• Jail and prison programs to teach job skills.
• Encouraging state and federal agencies to hire non-violent ex-cons for manual labor.
• More humane conditions and shorter sentences for juveniles, so committing a crime when you're 16 doesn't mean being cast into the outer darkness for life.
• Evidence-based treatment for drug addicts and alcoholics.
• Paying fines in lieu of incarceration.
• Paying bail under $500.
• Pushing for both an FBI and citizen-based inquiry into all shootings and serious injuries in custody, even where the suspect did not die.
• Testing of DNA evidence for all prisoners who were incarcerated before this became widespread practice.
• The creation of an app that tells you what the speed limit is while you're driving.
• A free and zero-judgement vehicular checkpoint where someone looks at your car and tells you what needs to be fixed.
• Opening the mission to people of every race who are dicked over by the cops.

This is just shit I came up with in ten minutes and it would probably change a lot of lives for the better, but these clowns are not interested in climbing the mountain, they're interested in sitting at the bottom and heckling people who try. Because part of trying to climb Mt. Justice involves admitting that the cops rarely fuck with people for no reason and most of the people who get into trouble with the cops are people who fuck around and find out. Maybe it was going to be a knee on the neck, a blow from a baton, a jolt from a taser, or a bullet from a gun, but the cops were going to send something in your direction that you did not want to be on the receiving end of.

Say what you will about people who die in the wasteland, they probably saw some scenery along the way. BLM inherited a shitpile and will leave the same shitpile to their children when they go.

Not surprisingly, he was there on the first day of the trial. That was probably the only time though, because of the photo op and all.

He's already represented the families of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Breonna Taylor (wow). The best part of this picture, outside of the courthouse on the first day of the trial, is that one of Floyd's family members is wearing a mask with 8:46 on it, meaning the time that Floyd was on the ground. But, the actual time that he was supposedly down for, stated in court, is 9:29. This was less then one month ago.


Also, I know how the media has been pushing this fake narrative that Floyd was a doting dad to a young girl.
