It's an open gay clubhouse where everyone can see the antics and it's mostly just a slower paced site that doesn't take itself seriously. Kengel's notion that it would be a meaningful competitor with Kiwifarms is laughable - it's a supplement at best, and it's pretty far from the best.
The appeal of it is if you like the people that are there, you can shitpost and chill. The upswing is that there's less people, people take shit less seriously, and you can communicate with banned people you like. The downswing is that there's less activity, and some of those people were banned for being annoying.

This contrasts with what seems to be the conventional wisdom, that it's where people go to seethe. There's a thread about Null that serves as a vent thread. He admits himself that there it wouldn't do the forum any use to have a vent thread on itself. It and the Spiderman thread get the most traffic. The Spiderman thread there is functionally no different from the Spiderman thread here, except it's free.
If anything, it serves as a place to keep people who would otherwise make a fuckton of socks here and shit up threads company.

I joined up primarily just because it was more avenues to watch stupid shit happen on the internet. Watching people complain about it like some boogeyman instead of what it is - a gay clubhouse - is really confusing. It's like people are insecure about the fact that other people are shitposting without them, and although they could just make an account or ignore it, they must defend m'forumsboards honor. OF only comes up either when someone people like gets banned, or when people want to announce that actually they're the cool kids.

Honestly, there are some apects of Onion farms that are better than KF. Firstly no one takes shit seriously, even the mods (except Kengle fuck that retard monkey) don't take it seriously. You can shitpost all you want and not be told to kill yourself by an angry KFer. People are more relaxed and the emphasis is more on the community than the lolcows. However the site is disorganized as fuck and some users genuinely fuck up everything they touch.

Kengle is more like that autist that no one likes but he has a fancy house, so everyone go there to party and ignore him. For example he once tried to filter "nigger" with hilarious results.

IIRC that is the reason he didn't want one. Kengle was afraid kiwis would start digging into his personal life and stuff again. People aren't necessarily only going to talk about him so people near might get included in the discussion. This was why when he eventually allowed halal he said we should check if what we are saying is true and doesn't involve anyone else. Another major factor was {o}P couldn't calm down and kept on starting slapfights with Kengle in random threads so Kengle thought it would just be a PA request by {o}P against him. I don't know if he changed his mind again but from what I remember he gave permission to make the threads on staff, {o}P just never finished and ended up giving up.
