No one is about to bust down her door & certainly not the RCMP. They have no jurisdiction in matters where she's flaunting the law - unless she is busted driving on the local National Capital Commission parkways or NCC managed & protected lands. Highways? Provincial police & in the city - the local po-po cover those.

Here's what happens - peoples' complaints get routed to a civilian team who triage the initial call or complaint & if warranted, open a file. IF they feel there may be something actionable, they gather the information - her personal info & video clips & pass that on to a uniform.

IF that uniformed member looks at the relevant clips, a choice MIGHT be made to pay a home visit for a "word to the wise". Prosecuting her for what she's done so far? The burden of proof would be hard to reach - a half decent defense lawyer could get this thrown out save probably, the "hands free" driving.

Ottawa is a growing city & policing resources were overstretched before CoVD. Right now, no officer has time to deal with her & sadly, she's far from the only thoughtless idiot on the road. Our already short on manpower police forces are also dealing with cops with CoVD & others waiting out a quarantine period at home. They'll probably end up dealing with her when they have to arrange to have her scraped off a local road.

You know what's going to happen? Nothing. If any of them actually did watch the video, their horror of watching Dolly Dimples order food while driving would turn to disgust followed by pointing and laughing at her.

I'm sure there is real crime in Ottawa, other than maaaaybe a caution, and that's doubtful, nobody is wasting any resources on her other than the NHS.

This whole brigade of turning the master criminal Chantal over to the Ottawa police is so fucking autistic, it’s embarrassing (especially when it’s Charlie “Coal”: you know she is dying for Chantal to be arrested because of how many times she has called her a “criminal.”). Canada has no misdemeanours/felonies, but in Ontario offenses are classified as either criminal or “provincial,” which covers most traffic violations, including distracted driving, which I still see all the time (texting while driving, but with the “head popping up and down” master routine), just not as ridiculously beyond distracted as what Chantal did because she is a retard. I don’t condone what she did, but do these people expect the cops to bust down her door based on a Twitter tag and a YouTube stream, and hand her a ticket? Because that’s all she would get. If she had actually caused an accident, the information would be useful, because then it would be a crime.

It’s also a particularly funny and useless crusade because, if these Good Samaritans had bothered to check the Farms, they would have seen that @Creme Egg doxxed the restaurant she was calling and it is in Cornwall. In the video she is driving past literal fucking farms, which may have also given a hint that she is wasn’t in the capital city of Canada, as she hasn’t been in any of her walks the past week, but who cares, let’s just tag the police agency of the city she lives in (and, apparently, the Prime Minister). She was almost certainly under Ontario Provincial Police jurisdiction at the time. But I can only assume most of the haydurs live in the same online fantasy world as Chantal does, where real world facts and logic don’t matter, and she will soon face a public streaming criminal trial in which they will each be the star witness and get to give their emotional testimony of how she blocked them when they showed concern and then didn’t invite them to join her Private Discord.

This is the most likely scenario. Prayers to the poor souls tasked with that job!

For the record, I wouldn't advocate for the use of taxpayer money to fund internet nannying, or to appease the Charlie Golds of the world (as mentioned by @KimWexlerEsq2). It's just incredible the amount of fuckery people like Chantal can get away with, for so long and seemingly without real consequence.

Something's gotta give. And maybe that doesn't take the form of liability in a criminal sense, but her body's keeping the true score right now. Chantal's gonna have to pay for these choices (with interest) eventually.

Actually, any tip reported via Crimestoppers MUST be followed up, at least in Ontario. (PL - cops in the family) On the other hand, whether or not they choose to do anything about the crime/infraction reported is a matter of administrative decision. It also happens that the officer(s) may decide to charge and prosecute an offending idiot purely on the grounds of being dragged out to nab said Idiot. If it's an OPP going out, chances are good she will be charged, or at least get a helluva lecture from a disgruntled public servant. QPP just laugh at your poor French. Then charge you.

I would dearly love to see a "I Got Pinched And My Car Got Impounded" arc 🌈🌈🌈
