It could, but then you have to convince a jury of 12 people of below-average to average intelligence that 02 isn't a useful metric after CPR, supplemental oxygen, etc. Which would then bring the CO defense argument back in, and make it virtually unfalsifiable as the prosecution would have to argue that the O2 stats taken in the hospital were not a reliable measure of Floyd's state upon death due to the medical intervention. Or that a "blood choke" was the cause of death, where the brain was deprived of oxygen due to the pressure of the knee on the neck (probably not the case, given the positioning on the back and the base of the neck rather than the carotid arteries). The knee -could not- have been a significant part of what killed Floyd with a blood oxygen level over 95.
Someone on /pol/ put this list together. And it's (mostly) neutral on the facts.
- he had severe heart disease
- he had an enlarged heart
- he had 75% to 90% occlusion of his three major coronary arteries
- he had hypertension
- he had a previously recorded blood pressure of 216/160
- he had a tumor (extra-adrenal paraganglioma) associated with hypertension, tachycardia, strokes, and heart attacks
- he had COVID
- he was a smoker
- he ODed several months earlier, "mama" (his girlfriend) took him to hospital, where he stayed for five days
- he had allegedly been clean since, implying a lowered tolerance to drugs
- he was nodding off/passed out when police arrived at his car
- he was in the car with his personal drug dealer(s)
- he had a suspicious white substance in his mouth
- he was saying he couldn't breathe before he was restrained
- he called out for "mama" during his arrest, the same person who helped him during his previous OD
- he complained that his stomach hurt, the same thing he told "mama" during his previous OD
- the knee on the back of the neck is a technique used by the MPD
- the knee is used to restrain a subject with a suspected case of "excited delirium" until EMS arrives
- the knee did not occlude both (or even one) of Floyd's carotid arteries
- the knee did not constrict Floyd's airway
- the hobble was not used to avoid delaying medical care
- EMS was called early but was late
- the hostile crowd prevented medical care at the scene
- he had a blood oxygen saturation of 98% at the hospital
- the autopsy revealed no abrasions, bruising, hematomas, or fractured bones in the shoulder and neck area
- he had a cocktail of drugs in his system, including fentanyl (depressant) and methamphetamine (stimulant/vasoconstrictor)
- he had a statistically lethal amount of fentanyl in his system
- he swallowed drugs and complained about not being able to breathe during his 2019 arrest
- fentanyl/methamphetamine pills (speedballs) were found in the back of the squad car, containing Floyd's DNA, pills were also found in the SUV.
Looking forward to the rest of the dumpsterfire.Alright lads, I've returned from two weeks ago to bring you (a little bit of) the tale of how the Chauvin trial started, for those of us that actually have jobs and shit. But not just the pertinent events, no, we want a tl;dr of the full experience. The shitposts. The worthless debates over pointless nonsense. The memes. The in-fighting. All of it; it's all nectar.
(I thought about doing these all at once, but the embedded links rapidly push it over the character limit and also I'm only 70 odd pages in and I want some dopamine now-now-now in the form of worthless Internet stickers.)
So without further ado, let's revisit our humble beginnings. How did we get here?...
03/29: Day 1
Some Random Internet Fag, jealous of the based jewess' crowning achievement, sets out to make the new quickest-moving thread about a dead black guy. What killed Floyd? Was it all the drugs? It was probably all the drugs. But Chauvin's facing a third-degree murder charge anyway, among other charges, and fucking everybody is livestreaming this trial. Some website admin with a fetish for watching fat women gorge themselves is betting all his Kiwi coins on surprise acquittal. @ForTheHoard has 1 BAT down on Mistrial (good lad).
Anyway, the trial begins. Who cares about the prosecutor's opening statement and the first witness? Not us. But the second witness is a lazy asshole and has already started pregaming by the time she takes the stand. The third witness likes MMA and gets immediately doxed by a /pol/ack for wearing his signature shitty cap to a 'peaceful protest'. A prescient plea for stickers to be reinstated to the Thunderdome goes woefully unanswered, which is a shame because some of us have a real taste for hats. @Ari Gold flips on the trial coverage and surprise! It's a break. What are the chances? Angry Leaf Man bitches about doxing (with more bitching here). Then the streams all suddenly shut down and a meme is (((born)))!
After hours, the brain trust are hard at work debating over what a blood choke is, whether Kiwi Farms is actually just Reddit, whether you should flee the country, how one can talk with a mouth full of hat, how fentanyl even works, and all sorts of other nonsense.
Looks like a fun month ahead! Expect riots; keep your eyes on the chimp-out advisory and be ready! Especially you, 'anonymous' jurors!
(@KiwiFuzz has a neat, non-sarcastic summary of the pertinent trial events for Day 1 here.)
03/30: Day 2
Past midnight and the more sleepless of us are still hard at work! What are the charges again? What's a hung jury? Who can powerlevel the hardest? Will America burn? Are we just a bunch of delusional tards? Was Floyd just a delusional tard? What even is murder? Lots of questions.
We're back on, lads. Day 2 of this trial for adeath-squadron sergeantcold-blooded murderer, y'all! Starting with the cross-examination of the "pussy-ass fucking bum bitch" MMA expert from yesterday. Reddit is not pleased that their angry black man is flawlessly acting out his stereotype. Speaking of stereotypes, did you know that George Floyd was a predicate felon? Because some of us are a little slow. But we're all up to speed now though (or not). There's a 9 year old taking the witness stand and she's blind too or something, but don't let that distract you from the thrilling debates about whether police training manuals advise a knee to the neck, whether Rooftop Koreans are still a thing, whether Mexicans are brown people, whether society itself is just a fiction, whether white women date outside their race, and whether /pol/ is right about the 'groids and the evolution of civilization. It's all so tiresome, innit? Burn it all down!
The next witness is your typical slacktivist and she clearly doesn't even want to be here, so it's time for a break! Let's give the media some time to spin their narrative. In the downtime, let's talk about pointless shit some more! Is BLM a legit movement? Is Antifa legit? Is Chauvin's attorney based? Why are there so many literal Redditors here? Are we in the Ace Attorney universe now? This stream has an unmoderated chat so we can read about the JQ while the stuttering firefighter gives her increasingly irate testimony, and then Nelson and the judge tag-team rawdog her live in the courtroom.
Trial's over for the day, but the seething on Twitter and Reddit sure as fuck isn't! Some bitch is taking pictures in the courthouse and Cahill angry (@Merry's got her [glowing] number here and here, so we know exactly which fatty to blame when photos of the jurors start showing up on Twitter next week). The smart money's backing Chauvin up on Floyd for all you you gamblers out there. What does a judge even do, again? Is Winston Churchill a warmonger? Is @AnOminous even a lawyer at all? That firefighter was so pissy and she probably sucks at her job (but @theshitposter is willing to take one for the team). Some idiot has chained herself to the courtroom fence in protest: protest of what is the million-dollar question.
The memes are good though! Here's Chief Wiggum taking the knee. Here's "I can't breef!". Nelson is /ourguy/: here he is saying "pussy ass bitch" in both GIF and mp4 video format for your convenience, and here he is as a cowboy and a wizard!). But look out: Chad Chauvin's gonna fuck yo wife. Sneed. A rare based Redditor. Genevieve Blart: Mall Cop. Whatever the fuck this is. Floyd's Feed and Seed (is actually real).
(@Dr. Ricearoni has a tl;dr of Day 2 of the trial here, and @Buck Swope gives a play-by-play of the firefighter getting wrecked for those who don't want to watch the graphic live footage.)
That's the first two days. Surprisingly the sneedposting and Cahill break memes hadn't really started yet, so we've still got those to look forward to as well.
Posobiec is fucking gay so here's an actual source (archive).
I wonder if the schools are allowing the students to participate, or if they are stating it is a possibility.MPS noted that some students may participate in protests, and that racism may be "widely discussed" among students.
Speaking of which Reynolds signs gun bill easing background checks, permitsGood, plus she recently signed a law allowing handgun carry and purchase without having a permit. And to any users here who live in Ohio, Governor Mike DeWine signed a stand your ground law into power so it looks like more owners and Roof Koreans will be able to protect their store.

Iowa is estimated to have 40% of its residents owing at lest one type of firearm.Updated: 10:13 PM CDT Apr 2, 2021

DES MOINES, Iowa —
Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill Friday that will make handgun carry permits and background checks on unlicensed sales optional in Iowa.
As of July 1, people can buy handguns from private non-licensed sources such as websites, gun shows and individuals without a permit or background check. People also will be able to carry a gun into public places such as grocery stores and malls without prior safety training or a permit.
Reynolds said in a statement that the bill protects the Second Amendment rights of Iowa’s law-abiding citizens.
“We will never be able to outlaw or prevent every single bad actor from getting a gun, but what we can do is ensure law-abiding citizens have full access to their constitutional rights while keeping Iowans safe,” she said.
Democrats opposed the bill, calling it a dangerous reversal of commonsense safety measures that have helped keep Iowa safer than states that have lifted such restrictions.
“By caving to the gun lobby and extremists in the legislature, Gov. Reynolds has failed her constituents and made clear that she stands with the gun lobby over public safety,” said Erica Fletcher, a volunteer with Iowa Moms Demand Action, a gun safety advocacy group. “We’ve seen what happens when states weaken their gun laws, gun violence goes up and people die.”
Currently 22 states have laws that require background checks for all handgun sales at the point of sale and/or as part of a permit requirement, including Iowa for now. The remaining states, including Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin, do not require background checks on all sales.
Reynolds, a Republican, has spoken in the past in support of Iowa’s current background checks and permits to carry handguns. However she has rarely vetoed measures supported by her GOP colleagues.
The bill passed the Iowa Senate with Republican votes only on March 22 at the same as a man was shooting customers at a Boulder, Colorado, grocery store. Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, who bought the Ruger AR-556 he used six days before the attack, is facing murder charges.
It cleared the House with the backing of only one Democrat.
By ending the permit and background requirements, the state will no longer check to ensure a person obtaining a gun from a non-licensed seller or those carrying a gun aren’t disqualified from ownership due to past felonies or abuses. The bill also eliminates firearms training now required to obtain a gun permit.
The process for buying guns from federally licensed dealers doesn’t change and still requires background checks.
Republicans insisted the measure recognizes that keeping and bearing arms is a fundamental right for law-abiding citizens and that communities are safer when more people have guns to protect themselves.
Lol is this for real? I've never heard of schools being shut for a court verdict.
Fingers crossed for an acquittal on all charges.Lol is this for real? I've never heard of schools being shut for a court verdict.
And three days? Woo boy, they just know there's going to be some serious shit going down.
How can anyone say these "protests" are peaceful when fucking schools need to shutdown in anticipation of them?

Hey if he is acquitted, the founder of BLM will be able to buy a couple more mansions. Just remember black dollars matter.
