For those who aren't permabanned SA pantshitters like myself, WaffleImages was the SA goons' attempt at making a decentralised image host, because Something Awful, being the finest forum technology 1998 had to offer, didn't support uploading images and still doesn't to this day (officially Platinum account holders can attach images to posts, but because SA's codebase was the result of Lowtax refusing to pay market rates to get the code functional, the mods couldn't delete the images if you attached them that way and had to nuke the entire post, which stood a good chance of breaking the SQL tables resulting in downtime and the banhammer for the offending poster, so attaching images to posts was basically playing Russian Roulette with your account so nobody did).

Unfortunately, WaffleImages, being a Goon Project (tm), also eventually failed and the last known mirror went down in about 2014 or so. A lot of SA users early on used Photobucket before they introduced bandwidth caps, resulting in those images being lost as well. Hence many early SA threads, unless they were Goldmined (which archived the images on the SA servers), have since lost all their images permanently. It's a shame, because early SA was a breeding ground for many a lolcow (Fire, Clawshrimpy, TotalBiscuit, Kuenbuu, HBomberguy and countless others including Norintha it seems).

If anyone knows of a WaffleImages mirror that is still functional, archive that shit and link it in the SA thread. There's internet and lolcow history in there.
