hard to get such specific data on such a small subset of the population
treatment for mood disorder and anxiety isn't super awesome as an indicator of recovery either, i guess they went with these sets because that's all they had or could gather within the scope of their study

That will make too strong of a statement. "Hospitalization after suicide attempts" means that a tranny has tried to disconnect oneself from the world, almost did it but got dragged into a hospital by someone/fucked up at the end and called the ambulance itself.

i dont even think this is what's actually happening. like someone said before, 'hospitalisation for failed suicide attempts' doesnt really say much about how much they're actually killing themselves. and even beyond that, you'd need a control group of no-surgery-trannies and observe them over the same time period to get data on how their suicide rates develop compared to the ones who do get surgery, only then could you really make any conclusions about whether or not transition reduces the rate.

Typically, treating mental disorders decreases the negative effect of those mental disorders. Like has been said this doesn't say much without comparison to a control group. What's more telling to me here is the fact half of pre-op trannies get treated for a mental disorder.
