Unfortunately most people are only casually acquainted with politics and only hear about things via social media, mainstream media or osmosis (i.e. from media). Claiming that Trump still has a large reach because everyone who supports him can still follow him is myopic in the extreme and ignoring the fact that he has been sequestered off to his own corner of media to only be preaching to the converted.
