It really shows that he wants this sort of drama to play out, at least with the "music" you could say he was trying to express himself, but the fights and Rv show he wants to move towards IP2 stuff, for Digi's old fans it's gonna result in a continuation of them leaving, but for lolcow stuff it's gonna get more interesting. I'm pretty sure Digi knows this and saw how much some IRL streamers where making and wanted in. anime reviews are nothing but hopelessly trying to keep the older viewers.
After further consideration about the possible influence of the monetary 'success' (if you can call it that) of the IP2 community on Conrad, I'd say it was more Riley's decision to upload that Gunt fight video to Conrad's main channel, considering The Dick Show's audience's overlap with that of the IBS's, which in turn overlaps with the IP2's. Consider also how proud Riley was of himself for his actions, particularly mocking Gunt for his height throughout the video.
Relistening to Conrad's rant on Filthy Frank/Joji ("Ranting About Papa Franku", 28 March 2019), Conrad expressed a strong dislike for the "gross out" content of Filthy Frank's, which would likely extend to not only to the violence and anarchy of IP2 content but maybe to his own Gunt fight video. However, the rant also reveals a lot about Conrad's views towards both the importance of well-executed music & video production and Frank's decision to leave behind a highly successful Youtube career to pursue a rap one as Joji:
The Patreon contributor to the rant asked if Filthy Frank, among other things, had any influence on Conrad (both men being wiggers, after all), with Conrad replying that Frank's production with both his music (particularly the rap beats) and the aesthetic of the music videos ("immaculate", in his own words) impressed him. While he didn't like Joji's current music, it gave him hope in the dream of his own escape from Youtube and becoming a musician if his music was to "take off". ( 4:58 )
Irony, once again, strikes Conrad, who, only two years ago, showed full awareness of the necessity for masterly production to carry any of his future aspirations as a musician. He would have been only all too keenly aware that it was his friend Davoo who was responsible for the tight video editing behind many of his most popular anime critiques. Contrast this to Riley, who instead blames Conrad for not understanding how a microphone works(?!) for his own shoddy production capabilities with editing dictation.
Looking back at Conrad's older attempts at rap, it shows how much he owed to his brother Victor for conceptualising, shooting, and editing (according to one video description) his music videos:
Conrad's vocals were also a far cry a few years ago compared to what they are now; it was like he was playing to his strengths (and limitations) of being this brooding, misfit otaku, who raps misanthropic lyrics in his bathroom and in the streets late at night, instead of now being a BRAVE AND STUNNING woman(!) who does Yoko Onoesque tranny shrieks over experimental wank. That Sam Hyde advice video posted a couple of pages back shows the importance of the friends one chooses to surround themselves with; Conrad replaced his brother and the PCP crew (particularly Davoo and Ben Saint, the latter showing his shrewd, biting insights as of late, despite being a commie soft on the tranny question) with a manipulative sociopathic 20 something year old, a mentally deficient girl who is not allowed to talk to her folks and a young gay man in total denial of his sexuality. Also these freaks are druggies. Great company, Conrad.
