Something tells me at least one of these kids is a they/them or uses neopronouns and makes everyone walk on eggshells so as to not offend.

I'm willing to cut them some slack, because let's be honest; not everyone handles that shit well.

But requiring a homebrew campaign? Dude, we don't all have large quantities of free time to build that shit. Be happy if you can find a DM that'll run a premade module or adventure path and be done with it.

Unrelated to any ongoing conversations here but possibly useful as an example as to what "vulnerable" games look like.

I don't get it. I live in an entirely different world to these people and I'm glad for it. I have no idea what this mentality looks like in actual play.
The author also got 100k on KS so there's enough "vulnerable" people out there to finance this garbage. Or soys.

I think my main issue with the /tg/ community right now is all the critical role kids who refuse to play anything other than DnD. If they get bored of fantasy they'd rather twist DnD into whatever genre they want instead of playing a game actually suited to that genre. It's maddening as a GM because I would love to get a group to try Traveller or CoC but everyone just wants to play DnD. Man, Critical Role and it's consequences have been a disaster for tabletop games.

Unsure, I know I personally like to scare players but It's more the delight of a good horror game so it's hard to say. I've certainly never ran around the fact I imprison men in my basement and gaslight/torture them into thinking they're transgender escorts who I then sell onto human traffickers but I once had trans npc in game so who can say?

jokes aside I strongly discourage players from running extensions of themselves.

I agree it would not be something I’d want to do. If they were serious I’d be concerned with people accusing me of things especially since it’s alluded to being friendly to adult themes or at least I would be worried about them sexualizing it. Home brew sounds like a tall order, especially if they are wanting them to run the players’ home-brew. At first I thought they wanted the dm to create their own world, but after re-reading it, I think they want the dm to run a campaign in their world/setting. I also suspect they’re murderhobos...

They should just find a dm amongst their friend group. That’s what my middle school friends and I did.

Matt Mercer has to be one of the most spineless and cretinous DMs I've ever seen. He goes out of his way to fudge dice to compensate for his group's "lolsorandom" stupidity. Whilst I have always maintained that a good GM never says no to a group, a good GM will simply enable the group to experience the consequences of their stupidity. Want to derail the game by killing the king? Go right ahead his army of guards will kill you before you reach the king. Did the dice roll in your favour and you did kill the king? Okay, well now that whole kingdom wants you dead for murdering their king. That's a great campaign hook if you can survive.

But I have found when I go to my LGS for games, they have a rule about not killing PCs. The zoomers are so entrenched with their ideas they think LOSING is a gamebreaking bug. And they just want to enact their tumblr OC ERP in my games.
