General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Anyone think it's a good or a bad thing when an indie vtuber splits their streaming time between Youtube and Twitch? I've seen several do that now, where they'll stream on Twitch at one time, then Youtube another time, on the same day.
It really depends. If they do it in such a way that neither of their Twitch-only nor YouTube-only audience notices then it's probably harmless. There's still going to be issues such as missing out on content - for example, Pikamee has been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 primarily on Twitch, with just the odd VOD clip upload to her YouTube channel. But that's Pikamee though, at this point, she has a big enough audience/following and she streams on YouTube often enough that the odd Twitch stream every now and then isn't a big deal.

Smaller indie vtubers who have a leaner streaming schedule probably will run into the issue of being lost in the shuffle when majority of their platform-locked audience keys in on other streamers/channels if they don't get enough streaming content.

A big thing that matters is your contracts too - twitch partners and affiliates can't stream on other platforms at the same time or upload VODs elsewhere within a certain amount of time. I'm fairly sure youtube partners are fine to stream simultaneously on other platforms though.

You're correct on the second point, a Tetris streamer I follow (Wumbo) dual-streams on Youtube and Trovo.

It’s up to them. Nyanners (before Vshojo) streamed mainly on Twitch but she sometime top toes over to YouTube. Miko also uses Twitch for the prime video watch along feature and recently also try to stream on Twitch due to YouTube being drunk (she had the same amount of live viewers like when she stream on YouTube). Ame and Watame also make Twitch account but have not used it yet.
It’s down to where the audience at. Once said streamer get their core audience, they can stream everywhere (preferably platform with friendly UI and not completely ancient like NND)
Does the logic compute if they say they're on Twitch for their western audience and Youtube for their SEA audience (and they're timed so it's at the evening of those regions)?

It kinda actually does, if their schedule confirms that. Could be an analytics thing too. If they're constantly looking at their viewer analytics on both Twitch and YouTube and the data says they get more western views on Twitch and more SEA views on YouTube, they're just following what the numbers tell them.

I fucking hate it because Twitch has become such a shitty website that forces me to sit through 10 minute long purple screens because I have an adblocker or a 2 minute ad ever 5 minutes because I don't have an adblocker.

Long gone are the days of Twitch Plays Pokemon Red.

Dot live idol club announced the group disbandment and let go of 5 of their talents, citing their expired contract this April. Those who remained with the company will carry on the spirit of the idol club under a new group. It is unknown that those who let go will continue their work as vtuber under a new character.

You can see the forming of the sub group dated back in December last year which coincidentally consist of the 5 remaining member so the writing was on the wall even a few months back.
Dot live idol club debuted on the same year as game club project, ambitious and had the potential to be Hololive before Hololive, and fell off a cliff in the exact same way, unable to pick themselves back up after a single big controversy. The difference is that fans of game club directed most of their ire at the management's shady practices and forced them to release an apology statement at best, the more crazy fans of idol club resorted to doxing and harassing those they deemed to be at faults, which eventually led to the graduation of the 2 involved in the controversy (you can say that Tama deserved it since she started it in the first place and even involved Mochi without her consent, but I digress. It is what it is), and 2 other go into a year long hiatus and now confirmed to also never return.
Moral of the story, if you create a vtuber group, don't name it whatever club because that thing is cursed.

Matsuri expressed her sadness in a single word, "graduation", which probably caused undue heart attacks for those without the context.

noticed earlier 31k people watched pekora play rise, what the heck are those numbers?

It time boys, for our precious little airhead Nene to have her 3D debut. Been looking forward to this, she totally deserved it after having to wait extra long because of the costume change situation she had. I really wonder what she going to bring to the table, I still think Botans one was absolutely top tier revel with the game sort of style it did, but knowing Nene now... Who knows.

How can you not love her, the grabbable Nekko bit and her yeeting them was pretty funny.

Managed to get a picture of the waving hands effect, must a new thing they can recently do.

Night stage with all the lights and stuff looks pretty cool. Think this is the first stage with 2 different lighting settings.

Look at this bundle of joy, I think this is the best looking 5th Gen 3D model, the rigging isn't completely wack and facial tracking is quite on point.

Thoughts of 3D debut:

- You can tell she been practicing so much in the dance studio for this, she probably rehearsed this god knows how many times, Props for Nene for giving us a lovely opening.
- They must have turned up the physics on Nenes, everything is so bouncing and flowy. Skirt, hair, ribbons makes me feel like they put bit of extra effort into hers.
- Just realised this is a brand new stage, looks actually banger. Its very Nene now.
- Boy she has like special effects when waving her hands, that dope.
- 6th Song, dam she really wanting to give back now and perform for us now
- 92K Viewer count highest I've seen so far. Well done nene
- Ngl, "Lunch with me" is actually quite catchy

about damn time, nene in an extra dimension can only be more super.
only thing that bothered me a bit that no one congratulated her (or I missed it..?) when that was a thing in the past. goofing off in 3d with others was always fun when they could actually act and move around for the first time. otoh there's a collab coming up in a few days so maybe they wanted nenechi to have her own show to shine where she's in the spotlight the whole time (definitely deserved it). yagoo probably shed a tear too for her keeping his dream alive.

speaking of collabs, can't wait to see what happens when the pirate cosplayer takes note of nene's nenechis in glorious 3d... cuz dayum.

MHR buff i guess since its pretty popular most hololive members that play MHR gets more than their average viewers. I remember watching pekora first MHR stream which is basically 85% character customization 10% weapon testing 5% gameplay reach 42k+ viewers.

Hello @ everyone,

This is a full list of servers where you can find my dox. Please do not go there, they are very bad. If you go there, don't come back. They even have nitro giveaways to lure you, those are a trap, don't go for it.

this is a very important announcement btw

I swear this is either a deep-cover op to promote them or POKA's just that much of a fucking imbecile.

@Sandman118 @tokyo how are your membership numbers? Going through the roof?

This just reads like an obligatory "cover their asses" write-up they intend to point to when eventually confronted with whatever shit their members pull.

Noticed that the mouth tracking was kinda shit though. Other than that she's adorable.

Pray tell, what was the controversy that brought down this group?
This post with replying to the initial announcement of Game Club going down has the most substantial information mentioned on this thread, though a full breakdown by those in the know would be very appreciable.
I looked into the story a little more. In April 2019, some complaints about company abuse went public and all four members tendered resignations. They came back with the company promising to address the problems, but a member was replaced less than two months later and all four were replaced by October 2019.

Pray tell, what was the controversy that brought down this group?

Game club project? It was mentioned several time in this thread but the tldr of it is:

  • The beginning of April: Allegations about verbal abuse and black company practices from private twitter accounts, but soon the sentiments overflows into the characters' main accounts, which caused a big uproar.
  • April 8th, roughly a week after the first allegations surfaced, and 2 days since the most recent, Unlimited released a statement apologizes for the trouble circulating around twitter and news site. They're looking into it and working with both the talents and staffs to take responsibility and improve. On April 11th, they updated the statement announcing that in order to resolve the issues raised by both the voice actors and the staffs, they decided to create a new department specializing in managing the talents, treated their physical and mental health as top priority, and give upmost consideration to the talents when deciding schedule. However, it soon became obvious that it was just pr speak.
  • Comes June, in a now deleted tweet on her private account, Sakuragi Miria posted "It's already June and yet nothing have changed. Seem like it won't work." Followed by this incident, fans noticed that her voice had changed. She was replaced without warning or announcement. This trend would continued under wrap until September.
  • Late September, after all of the original cast had been replaced, only then Unlimited released a statement addressing the change of personnel, however they worded it in a way that seemed like only Miria was changed prior to this statement and they were being upfront about the other characters, all the evidents pointed to the contrary.
  • In the same statement, they also claimed that the game club project was character youtubers (ctuber), not vtubers. What they want you to experience was the characters, not the person behind the scene. The voice actors should be grateful for the job, not being entitled to the characters. I took some creative liberties with this part, but that's the gist of their intentions.
Their ctuber model obviously didn't work. Game club, while not Kizuna Ai or Mirai Akari level, was very popular before the controversy. In the span of 5 months, from April to September, they hemorrhaged around 3000 to 10000 subscribers daily. November 2019, Domyoji Cocoa, the sister character of Haruto who has her own channel, Cocoa Music, announced her departure from the company with a farewell video. In a desperate efforts, Unlimited invited the original voice actors of the Game club to come back, as well as brought in a new voice actor for the Cocoa character in a new channel, even have her first video started with the symbolism of the old Cocoa passing the torch to the new one but the reception was lukewarm at best. The group had their graduation stream on February this year, peaking at 300k subscribers, a shadow of their former glory. The new Cocoa eventually got a redesigned and is still active to this day. Whether or not she is her own person now or still serving as a reminder of a much more beloved character is up to your discretion.

After like a million hours of cumulative trying Donald Duck finally beat mega man 2. She was nearly sobbing at the end,

Did anyone else notice this:
