I ain't a lawyer, but isn't that double jeopardy? Like if you've been proven innocent or guilty of a crime, they can't constantly charge you until it sticks right?

if a jury explicitly rules not guilty on murder, then that's it. it could maybe go to appeals, but it cant just be brought again in a new trial.

Chauvin's charged with murder 2 and 3.

Generally speaking, murder 2 requires some additional felony to have occurred. E.g. you're assaulting someone and then they die without you meaning to kill them.

Murder 3 requires an inherently dangerous act and disregard for human life. E.g. Firing a gun into a crowd without intending to kill someone, but someone gets shot and dies.

No. It depends on locality but generally 1st degree murder is premeditated intentional murder, 2nd degree is not premeditated intentional murder, and 3rd degree is unintentional murder with use of lethal force and a 'depraved mind'

so 1st is killing my wife because that bitch has been cheating on me and she's gonna fucking pay for it.
2nd degree is killing her lover when I coincidentally found him arriving at my house to fuck my wife.
3rd degree is when I accidentally kill someone when I start wildly firing off my gun following said murders and killed someone two blocks over

it wasn't just barricades, they lined her street with officers and patrol cars. So much so that the high crime areas of chicago had 1 or 2 vehicles and 4 or 5 officers on duty for the whole district. It funny and sad to see second city cop post the midnightroster and see half of the team gone to protect the mayor.
