Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

As far as hiding the tomgirlism and arguing with Barb, it started out that way. We know they argued about it quite a bit. Barb said stuff like "I didn't raise a daughter" and she also (for some bizarre reason) hypothesized to Chris that he might murder her because of it. I don't really get the connection between Chris turning into a woman and murder, but that's Barb, I guess. And of course, there was the time where Barb forcibly cut Chris' hair.

However, Chris stuck to his guns. He kept up the tomgirl shit (and now transgenderism/transvestism) and Barb gradually stopped complaining. She still doesn't like it, but she gave up pestering Chris about it. Now I'm pretty sure he does it openly in front of her.

Also, I just want to note: I wouldn't characterize Barb as having tight control over Chris' finances. Chris handles his own bills, he handles his own money. The big thing Barb does is that she can snatch money from Chris whenever she wants. I don't know how often she does this, but she probably does it to cover the electric bill or something.

Really, Chris has way more power in 14BC than he realizes.
Barb came around on the tomgirl thing. But I'm sure she'd love for him to go back to classic chris. She really didn't have too much of a choice but to accept chris as a woman. Much like Barb is the only person in Chris's life, the vice versa is also true for Barb. Barb is also a lazy piece of shit who gives up whenever something becomes hard or too much trouble.

Must run in their genes, right?

I do wonder how much Barb just lets Chris handle things out of laziness. Chris isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'd like to hope by now he at least knows that if he doesn't pay bills he doesn't get his utilities.

Yeah, Chris knows very well he has to pay bills. He knows he can't bitch his services into working.

Is there any data available on precisely how much LEGO Chris has bought since the fire? Do experts know if his purchases thus far have fully replenished his stock from before the fire, or exceeded it by a certain margin?

I remember Chris saying that on some email or facebook post...could it be that Barb simply said something in the line of "You are killing me with this!" and Chris autistic brain took it literally?

I have also just been in another emotional family drama. Last Sunday, My mother comes upstairs and yells at me about how She Thinks I'm turning queer from being Tomgirly and Feminine, AND she fears that I would kill her. Hand to God, I would never kill Anyone, including my own mother and father. Violence and Murder is Rarely the answer; murder is Morally Wrong; I care about my mother and father Very Much. And even worse, she threatens to kill me in her episode of emotional rage.
I don't think so. Murder is pretty specific. Chris can distinguish "you're killing me" from "you are going to murder me".

Probably more than he posts publicly about, but it's impossible to say how much more. Like, for example all that leaked "Angel Bob" stuff involved tons of Lego he never specifically blogged about.

Not necessarily, because Chris won't be making any decisions at that point.

If it's Barb making his funeral arrangements, she'll bury him as a boy.

I knew a trans-person who died and the family took over and buried him as a woman even though he'd been living as a man for years. The friends were pissed, but the next-of-kin make all the decisions.

We know that Chris was hanging out with the local LGBT community at a bowling alley, and such. If Chris died soon and Barb had him buried as a man, would any of these local LGBTs care?

I say good on Chris, for standing up to Barb and remaining true to his transgendered lesbian soul. Good to know that he has a bit of spine in him somewhere.

As for the money, I didn't mean 'tight' as in she keeps track of each penny he spends and all, I was referring to what you just saqid, about her helping herself to his money any time she wants. As I recall, she made him buy her Goodwill crap before.

Chris is likely being held at arm's length by most of the people he meets with at the moment. They would not realize Chris had died until he was buried.

No one would know or care other than us. He doesn't have any real friends. He's a lot like Gatsby... keeping everyone entertained, but no one shows up at his funeral.

Chris has always had a completely abnormal understanding of what constitutes friendship and what it means to have "lots of friends' or an active social life. He thought having five girls sit with him at lunch on alternate days, girls who he never saw outside of school, made him a "playa." Ten years later he was still calling Tiffany "my best friend." These little human contacts satisfied him enormously.

Likewise, he's now very content with the "friendships" he has at the gay bar, even though, from an objective standpoint, none of them give a shit about him. Since he sees himself as the center of the universe, he assumes everyone else does too.

I wonder if Chris believes he'll have hundreds of fans at his funeral. Maybe they'll have to shut down central Charlottesville for the cortege.

Yeah he doesn't seem to know the difference between "acquaintance" and "friend".
I think @Lipitor said it best: "There's no scenario where Chris actually makes a friend."

I think it's best that Chris doesn't figure it out. The closest thing he ever had to a friend was Megan, and he sabotaged that for himself. It's like school again for him, he has people he can hang around with but never really get particularly close to.
