He would likely never have prepared for this inevitable event of having to leave Twitch (whether he's forced to or if it's his own decision to make, like maybe this predicament he's facing now) so soon because he couldn't have possibly thought that he would actually end up un-partnered, let a lone banned permanently (he's been incredibly close one time before, despite it never happening).
He's gone on rambles multiple times in the past about how much other platforms have been complete dogshit when you compare it to what Twitch has offered him (i.e Mixer mostly) and how much moderation tools are lacking in other platforms and how much of a hassle it will make his streams, YouTube is something that he's stayed away from for a long time now in regards to streaming not only because of the lack of mod tools, but also because he does not have the same piggy bank wheelchairs on YouTube like he does on Twitch and it ultimately hurts his bottom line, he really needs that money, he really does.
I think some other Kiwis here might have insight as to specifically why he is so hesitant to jump ship, but ultimately it comes down to him being lazy and being so used to how easy (for the most part) he had it on Twitch, he's never thought seriously about shifting to an alternative platform.
Also I will add just an extra thought, when he got that email and he stoped the stream and told people what happened, he wasn't doing any of his weird addict leg bouncing or swaying from side to side that he sometimes does when he's stressed or paranoid about something, he was definitely puzzled and a bit confused for sure but it seems to me like he wasn't completely surprised that this was going to happen at some point (which makes the fact that he's never thought seriously about having to make the permanent change to another platform rather laughable and slothful on his part, ultimately this problem, once again extends from DSP alone).
and yes maybe Twitch finally had enough and wanted to punish him a little, but who knows...

Some of you may laugh at this but I am thinking more about it and I think Kat crying might actually be signaling the divorce saga. It was extremely inappropriate for Phil to share that, let alone use it as a technique to generate sympathy.

So his parsnips were taken away for "absolutely no reason", since the email apparently didn't say why (X to gout), but, the person responsible for it was also ill-informed? How are they ill-informed if there's no reason?
I feel like it's just Philese for "a reason that I think isn't legitimate." His whole "I never broke the rules ever or they would tell me, like that time I broke the rules and they told me" rant reeks of this being a new violation, but in Phil's mind, revoking his partnership for it isn't legitimate, since he wasn't warned first.

It seems (I still wait for a few weeks) as if Phil got too high on his repeatedly hitting the tip and sub goals. And after getting the bankruptcy he might have felt it would only go upwards. Interesting theory that deserves a deeper dive, because it's fun to do.
She does seem desperate for security. At the same time, where would she go? Subaru Man has probably moved on. Her family situation doesn't seem all that wonderful. I don't know how likely divorce would be though, because I think Dave would go to the ends of the Earth to avoid her leaving and entering into divorce proceedings. Coupled with his world class manipulation with anyone that gets sucked into the snortex, he might be able to salvage what may well be crumbling. The gf/bf dynamic he had with Panda is a whole other situation to actual, legally binding marriage.
This twitch saga is bad enough, he'd get absolutely buried if he also got hit with a messy divorce. Kat needs that money, she really does, to pay her prescription bills. I'd imagine she would want alimony.
This, of course, is barring the real possibility that Phil got a prenup. Either way, we'd get Old Saint Gin Redux for the holidays. A win-win.

That’s going to depend entirely on how much money Kat has been able to save, and I’m gonna take a wild guess and say not much. It could take her a year or more to be able to afford a divorce. I think she knows she’s in for hard times.

Yeah, Phil seemed to genuinely believe in the "unkillable pigroach" meme. He'd constantly act as if he was truly invincible and Twitch actually loved him.

i doubt kat was actually crying, i doubt she truly knows whats going on at the moment, he's probably waiting to break it to her. he just said that so his audience would feel sympathetic. i bet you, as soon as his income starts to really diminish, the divorce saga may start.
