It truly is one of America's greatest traditions:
Getting wasted, shooting guns, and blowing shit up at a wholesome family barbecue.
:semperfidelis:
This why we have 3 day weekends.

No 4th of July for you!

I wonder if we'll see commercials like the mesothelioma and non-Hodgkins lymphoma ones in the future for these vaccines.

Holy shit, I had no idea POTUS had the ability to just wipe an entire day off the calendar. No one man should wield that much power. Sorry, Americans, looks like you'll have to just blast fireworks, get wasted, eat BBQ, and celebrate freedom on the 5th, which was formerly the 4th. Nobody hates Biden more than calendar company CEOs right about now

Is Chickenpox really bad?
It can be. It attacks the nervous system and remains as a latent infection there. It can pop out again as shingles if your immune system is suppressed, usually as a patch of blisters over a nerve cluster, often accompanied by long-term neuralgia and some potentially nasty side effects, like blindness and death. It can get a hold even after vaccination, but the symptoms are far milder.

There's no way the Harris Administration could do that even if they wanted to. I know I'll be travelling about this summer doing various shizz.

@It's HK-47 @Null Either thread ban @Product Placement or give us an option to hide posts like that, because there's a thin line between free speech and being a constant annoyance without meaningful contribution to the discussion. He's not being adversarial, he's just being an outright Indian on a designated shitting street.

If you don't care - then thread ban me, because that autist is beyond annoying.
If you learn the very valuable skill of ignoring things you don't like your time on the internet will go a lot smoother.

Whew, some actors managed to find some spine and made a website and some funny video about sarcastically thanking our government and media for a year of pointless terror propaganda, along with some spicy satirical hashtags about "close everything forever" and such.
Best line: "It's ok if you despair. But don't doubt." It makes more sense in German, where "despair" is "verzweifeln", and "doubt" is "zweifeln".
I mean, it's a whole lot of nothing in the end, but it's weird how the hashtags are actually trending and are not yet brigaded by KPop. Some Branch Covidians seem to use the hashtag unironically, but all in all it's surprising how it's going.
/edit: The Branch Covidians seem to be fuming. They can't fathom that somewhat well known people would go against the grain even this little bit. And as little as it is, it's elating.

/edit2: Ah, now the Top posts are mainly against them. The Twitter High Command has taken care of the dissident elements.
I heard that people in Germany are not allowed to wear respirators with exhale valves, is this true?

From a Georgia Schoolboard meeting last week, good righteous God fearing anger about making kids continue to wear masks:

She should have called them all mega tranny faggots but that's what a genuine mother looks like whose kid actually said something and it wasn't a twitter pretend story.
That lady has some real cojones

I got chickenpox back in '93 when I was 5. I don't remember feeling all that sick, just a bit itchy with a bunch of red dots on my stomach. Then again, I was never one to complain about being sick. Is Chickenpox really bad?
That's odd. I remember several friends getting sick at the same time. I wonder if that was just a bad year for it or something.

Idk, were pox parties were a thing 30 years ago?

Little kids are resilient AF for the most part, i guess. Get it while you're young, right.

I think so? I was pretty young, but I distinctly remember one mom giving another one her daughters pajamas in a plastic bag so the second mom could make her daughter wear them.

That's sad. I'm in Georgia and the schools in my county don't require masks. Hell, half the people in the grocery stores don't even wear them anymore. I can't imagine forcing five year olds to wear masks all day.

I think the first chickenpox vaccine was approved in 1995 so that's probably around the time people stopped trying to get their kids infected. My mom tried when I was a kid by making me hang out with the kids of family friends who had it, but I either didn't get it or was asymptomatic or mild enough that it went unnoticed. Chickenpox is insanely contagious. The r0 is 10-12--meaning one person will likely spread it to 10-12 people. And it's airborne, so being in a room with someone can get you infected.

With kids it's usually mild, but it's often more severe and can actually be deadly in adults. That's why people actively tried to get their kids infected.

"You're only allowed to celebrate black and queen holidays, cis scum!!" in president form. Thank God I live outside the cities where no one can stop me

Guys, come on, on the bright side she is safe from Covid! Thats the only thing that matters nowadays!

Jokes aside there are reasons why they have legally proofed themselves from getting their asses sued, they knew shit like this was likely to happen.

You know, maybe in a few years, when the dust settle, I might write a story about some sort of apocalypse caused by a botched vaccine to a virus that, while deadly, wasnt apocalyptic itself...feel like there is good plot and social commentary to be made.

In what way has covid been shown to be "much more lethal" than the flu? The numbers are elevated, but in a way that could be said it's more due to our hyperfocus on tracking ever aspect of it than anything else. It's not uber-ebola.
They say there is never such a thing as a dumb question - and then you go ahead and prove everyone wrong.
