I wish I'd thought to look at what Lina Morgan was up to before trying to parse Todd's document. Her manifesto was wordy but way more clear and just got to the damn point.

Tl;dr: nobody took Jourdain Searles seriously because she was talking about the kissing incident as "giggly girl gossip bragging time" until she had a reason to be mad at everybody.

Searles just another MeToo clout chaser - someone who retroactively decided something that wasn't rape/sexual assault years ago is now rape/sexual assault.

My policy for these sorts of accusations is Trust, but verify. It would not be out of the realm of the possibilities for these "sexually liberated and open" let their handsiness get out of hand in the name of being liberated, then try to walk everyting back when some one not so interested in being liberated is in the line of fire. I've seen such people firsthand trying to convince others that they were reading the situation wrong.

That said, I can 100% see manipulation on Searles part. Lina Morgan would have been easy to drop from the circle. She's not a precious enough commodity to risk such accusations in their world.

As a Gen-X-er, I am so glad I didn't come of age with these types of people. Imagine dwelling on a clumsy, one second kiss between two friends this much! They're all so fucking mentally ill and they deserve the LeQuint Dickey treatment immediately.

This missing part of this is that most of it is a deflection from what actually cost Dany "Lina Morgan" Roth the clout he was developing at that time-- his own big mouth. He'd been doing podcasts and reviews for Syfy up until then, but in March of 2019 he got a lot of negative publicity for spouting off about why media say unwarranted nice things to keep the access pipeline open (archive). The drama with Jourdain was right around the same time or just after he'd gotten a flood of scathing articles repeating what he'd said and putting his professional reputation in shambles.

Dany often spoke on the Song vs Song podcast about how shitty his childhood was, getting shitkicked for being an effeminate babyjew in New Jersey on the regular. In the episode about Pearl Jam's Jeremy, he went into some detail about it, and in the early podcast episodes he frequently made reference to his attraction to men and his bisexuality. Now he's an asexual trans and his wife Raven is a they/them who has a book club podcast with Nella.

If anything, trooning out and getting loud about this drama is good for his career. Nobody listened to the podcast for him, just Todd, and Dany's now talking about preparing for a GFM to raise money for FFS and other purely surgical tranny-means since his Crohn's apparently makes taking titty skittles a no-go (archive). Testosterone helps soothe the Crohn's (though he wants more research on the matter). His self-loathing is nothing new.

They're at least supposed to be there so sock puppet or impersonating accounts can't be used to damage a popular person's reputation. Problem is, they're such a pain in the ass, or arbitrary, to obtain, that you need connections to Twitter often in order to obtain them.
