I'll confess; I'm not a huge Spoony fan, and he sounds like a fairly awful person, but depressed, alone, and losing his dog is a terrible, albeit self-inflicted position to be in.

I wouldn't send him money or anything, but I'm glad his dog is okay.

I agree. I am happy the dog is okay. Maybe it'll be a wake up call for Spoony to seek out humans for help for himself....i highly doubt it though.

Yea it was just a fatty lump. I am glad she's okay though. I wish Spoony would give her to someone else that could take better care of her. Dogs are pretty good about sensing emotions. I bet Oreo's been miserable for a long time with that giant pale raincloud over her for years.

You know, I kinda felt like watching some classic Spoony stuff, back when he was still good. His Ripper stuff and the Phantasmagoria videos are still pretty entertaining.
But geez. 480p and 4:3 aspect ratio... I never really thought about it, but if that doesn't tell us his days of thunder are like from a bygone era, I don't know what is. Those video specs are to our modern entertainment what black and white movies are to color tv. It's like silent movies to talkies.
It's a weird time capsule of "the old days", when technology was a lot more primitive...

Maybe he was being overdramatic and joking but I thought Spoonys old job got outsourced? I remember a big dramatic moment in one of his videos where talks about how his CS degree was rendered worthless when tech jobs were constantly being outsourced to India/China.

I imagine going the video route back then was actually a great idea. The field was less crowded with creators and money flowed a lot more freely, especially since they had both YT and Blip to harvest it from. Shit, like it's been mentioned Spoonys patreon hit 5K. Most other CAs veterans Patreons aren't even close to that now. Linkaras is at like 3K and he's been at it just as long as Spoony has.

If he'd just kept it consistent, he'd be doing great. He could probably be at some Nostalgia Chick level money now if he hadn't just given up and laid down to rot.

That was always an excuse. By his own admission he hated working in IT (and as we all know, working in general) and was considering moving overseas to teach English before The Spoony Experiment kind of fell on his lap as a job.

I mean, you're basically preaching to the choir here. I don't think anyone disagrees Spoony would have been successful had he just kept going. I full on agree that his 5k would have been bumped up to maybe 7-9k by now. Plus ads, live streams, etc, guy would have had it really nice right now had he just kept going. Nostalgia Chick levels? Ehhh maybe? He would definitely be up there though.
