Recent bans on gaf have been REE levels of faggotry. Some good posters have been banned without good reason. Most of em had 15,000 posts each. way to run a forum tyler!

It is hard to tell. Even wayback machine does not have any snapshots that far back, but it is definitely a decline going on.
I just compared the activity on the Gaming forum third week of april in 2020 and 2021.
In 2020, that forum averaged ~3500 posts per day. This year the activity for third week of april is down to ~2500 posts per day, so whatever his frequent ban sprees are doing, hte site is not moving in the right direction.
Still have an account there but doubt will visit much because politics was the only decent section. Without it there is no reason to go there.
Gaming section has barely any discussion aside from xbox/sony wars and has no scoops/news that are not pulled from somewhere else.
As far as offtopic goes, plenty of non-political special interest forums.

Former GAFfer here. I enjoyed GAF as it appeared to be a reasonable speakeasy without trying to be too edgy.
The policy change brought in the paranoia and walking-on-eggshells feel, and the snivelling hall-monitor stooges that live for it.
I've been entertained by watching how things have gone in 2021.
At this stage, I'm just waiting from them to drop all pretence and introduce a new purple theme for the site.

yep. the guy has shown time and time again that he has no fucking clue what he's doing.
When Jan 6th kicked off he should have moved his servers abroad, and moved it to moderate/right leaning. Hell, I would have even phoned Trump and asked if he wants to use my platform as a jumping off point.
