Yeah I know, that's a horrible idea.
I'd set up a different wifi channel and shut it down when they go to bed and have parental controls set up on their phones too so internet access is halted. There's still always the nasty feelings of "what if", what if there's an intruder, wakes the kid up, but the phone is fucked because I'm a tyrant with good intentions?

Either way, I think with enough real life friends and social stuff going on, they'd not think too much about parasocial bullshit. The MCYT stan community is every problem with the modern world manifested to the extreme. There's gonna be something nasty happening at some time in that circle.

You can buy so-called “kosher phones” — often meaning basic flip phones but also referring to smartphones set with filters so that even if you get connectivity for some things (e.g. Waze), you can’t get on social media or anything that might lead to you to creeps or sex. Lots of them even have the camera disabled.



Might seem extreme but I’ve been on KF too long to be nonchalant about this shit either. When you think about the time frame, Faith made up this retarded rape shit around the time she was hanging out in z-celeb discords. She said she was getting bullied in school when actually she was probably up all night chatting with whatever pathetic dregs of society orbit no name youtubers, and was too tired to function or make friends at school. She probably made up some shit about being raped on her way to school because this kid didn't do anything outside except go to school and go home and sit on fucking discord crying about how she was going to kill herself while drinking Listerine.

Even her mum while talking to Godwinson said that she had no friends.

The problem wasn't Faith's use of technology. All teenagers use social media and send nudes to each other and bully each other, it's part of the zoomer way of growing up. The problem was that she isn't fucking socialised. She should have been playing sport and getting to know other girls her age and working somewhere not owned by her parents. Her mother should have taught her how to present herself and wear make-up so she could have better self-esteem and not be easy prey for disgusting gunted men and meth heads.

The focus shouldn't have been protecting her from the fucking world, they should have shaped her and helped her become a confident and well adjusted adult.

I don’t think it’s an either/or choice with kids. There are elements of the world that they absolutely need protection from as children. Whether it’s creepy “uncles” IRL or heavy traffic, the results are devastating when parents let them try to figure it out for themselves before they’re prepared to do so.

In parallel, you strive to raise resilient kids who know and enforce healthy boundaries. Letting children be exposed to all the degeneracy of the internet has no place in any of this. Shit, I wish I hadn’t been exposed to much of the stuff I’ve seen and learned about. You can bet I’m not going to give literal children carte blanche with technology.

And yeah I include tweens and teens under that heading. Their brains are not developed enough to grasp long term consequences of the choices they make today. It’s not fair or wise to expect them to navigate these things in ways that are far beyond their cognitive grasp.

Family law is a bitch. I've read that you can't just sign off your parental rights in CA...they want someone to bleed. But there are also ways to force someone out of their parental rights, though in that case they lose their responsibility with their obligations (re: child support). I think the question on most of our minds (or at least on mine because I don't have a life or anything better to do) is:

1) Does Fai seek child support knowing that Ralph is dirt poor and that she'll never see a cent when Vickers has already said that Guntling will be well cared for and her parents appear to have the means to provide? On the off chance something happens and he CAN pay up, then he gets a say in any decision that affect the kid. If he doesn't pay up (more likely), then he can get punished, but even if CA is eager to punish, VA doesn't seem to give a shit about Gunt-antics.

2) Does Fai seek termination of parental rights based on Ralph's long history of alcoholism, law-breaking, and violence? Ralph doesn't want shit to do with that kid because he's the King Wigger, so he may voluntarily sign off on a petition if the court agrees to it.

What I was able to confirm was that as long as Fai has that baby in CA, then she has the control. Even if Ralph forces a paternity test (not that he would) and forces himself onto the birth certificate (she, I believe, is NOT required to list the father), then even if he got visitation, he would have to go to CA, rather than her being forced to bring the kid to him.

Either way seems like a lose-lose for King Wigger.

Honestly, the smart option for the Gunt Family Vickers would be to not chase Ralph for this stuff. I would say there is an 80% chance he never even tries to get into contact in a meaningful way. If he spends the next ten years out of his child's life of his own accord, without paying up, it's going to be really difficult for him to defend that.

This is Vickers were talking about though, so no doubt he'll autistically hound Ralph for mere pocket change and it will backfire spectacularly. Ultimately, you want Ralph to be out of the kids life, but with the blame squarely placed on him - so baby Xander doesn't reach his teen years angry that you kept him from his dad.

This is really the crux of the issue with Faith. Blaming technology ignores the grander issue with Faith seeking out the attention older men in online communities and conveniently covers up the major problems with the Vickers' parenting. The only reason Faith got as deep in these dumbass online communities as she did was because she had no real friend group of her own and no real activities occupying her free time. You mentioned sports, but I doubt a clan of deathfats such as the Vickers would even contemplate physical pursuits. It is painfully apparent that nobody payed Faith much attention in her actual life, and her online persona was cultivated around garnering the attention she couldn't get in real life for herself, with Faith going to increasingly extreme lengths to get scraps of attention from passersby.

Faith's character arc concludes with her fucking Ethan Ralph, a man who resembles her father in both physicality and personality. Both are short, fat, unduly arrogant idiots who run a mildly successful business of their own. Both enjoy talking a lot of shit without being able to back it up and have manlet anger issues. Both are smug in a way that only people who are immensely unaware of their own incompetence can be. Maybe if Daddy Vickers paid Faith a little more attention, she wouldn't have run away to be with a man as repulsive as Ethan Ralph.

The only problem I see with any theories on Fai's upbringing is that the only thing we actually know is that she was in GWU Psyche ward for 7-10 days (I don't remember the exact number). They don't just keep you there for no reason. Factoring in mental illness makes theorizing about the quality of Fai's parenting kinda moot, even if we think Vickers is a retard. There are theories of isolation...but she went to public school until her sophomore year of high school...so where was there no socialization? Someone said that Fai's mom said to Godwinson that Fai had no friends...I just listed back through that "interview" and that was never said (maybe I missed it and I'm happy to accept I'm wrong if someone can point me to a time stamp.

what would be even more entertaining, probably disturbing if he's still with pantsu party at the time. good thing is, 15 year old xander may be too old for pantsu. imagine if pantsu larps as trad for so long, she actually becomes trad?
the more likely scenario is ralph goes broke and ends up in prison sometime after the ralph retort becomes unsustaianable to make a living. pantsu moves on to leech off someone else. xander ends up raised by a single mom and his grandparentss and probably ends up back here if null is still alive.

I’m not saying this was the case with Faith, but the kind of “socialization” kids get in school is often negative, and that drives certain types of kids to draw even further into themselves than they already were. Isolation is the only thing that feels safe in those circumstances. But of course humans are still social animals. Luckily technology came along to give us easily accessible, effectively free parasocial relationships with countless strangers. Taking the wrong turn on that path almost always ends badly for the isolator and those close to them.
