Over under on some company just buying the company and gutting it almost entirely?

I know they've been bought by bigger companies twice now but third times the charm, right? Especially after the ryan stuff.
I would find it hilarious if the new company fired all the new people and rehired Ryan to try and recapture the old audience. It won't happen, but still.

Gawker is making a comeback and their toxic woke political ideology fits right in with current year RT.

Gawker has always been around, it's just a new name with sort of the same speds. Just because they call themselves Gizmodo doesn't mean the same Gawker assholery isn't around.

Though, it is also amusing to see Cock Bite being bitten off to cut costs. The fact they haven't outright dumped RT must mean that someone is trying their damnest to see if it's even sellable.

I have a business major friend who read this and predicted that RT will either be cannibalized by Warner pre-selling (IE take the IPs that have value like RWBY, move the animators to their own studios, etc.) or after and that RT would be dead for 2025.

How many times have we seen this song and dance?
This is what, the ninth time WB/AT&T’s said they were going to sell RT now? Not really expecting much to come from this.
My thing is, I’m just waiting for the sale to be official...and to hear what’ll happen to RWBY and Death Battle as a result. https://twitter.com/RealClownfishTV/status/1385754256075104269

One might posit that's the reason the animation part of Rooster Teeth was split from the online content treadmill part. Makes things easier to merge and or close in the future.

"Rooster Teeth is reportedly being sold off by AT&T and WarnerMedia. This is right after it was announced that Adult Swim was merging with HBO Max. You know, just like we've been saying was probably going to happen for almost two years now. But hey, we don't know what we're talking about... "

Clownfish TV wins again.

Can that even be done on a legal front? And is RWBY even worth rebooting or whatever Warner can do after the corporate games?
Plenty of companies have been split and sold off in parts. Atari comes to mind, and I know some Japanese gaming companies have separate pachinko divisions.

Of course. AT&T own Rooster Teeth and can carve it up to sell or merge with other business units however they see fit.

Rooster Teeth will be owned by a holding company controlled by Warner called "Bad Online Videos (Austin) LLC" or whatever. The mark who buys Rooster Teeth would do so from that company or it would be used to wind down Rooster Teeth's operations if they decide to shutter it. Any assets Warner wants to keep it can either retain within that holding company or create a special purpose company to assign them to before transferring to one of their other subsidiary legal entities.

It's pretty standard when companies are bought and sold

So you're saying there's a possibility that this all ends with me in a laughing fit?

I can only imagine RT on their knees begging and pleading for RWBY to not get the axe and shuttering and cancellation.
