General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

The more I looked into this and how it happened in the first place, the more I ended up eating my own words. It's not only that there were a small but not-insignificantly quiet portion of viewers that were requesting that HoloID speak Bahasa more, but that these same people were directly spamming management with demands to set regularly scheduled timeslots (with daytime programs) like you would with variety television. So Risu and Moona directly reaching out to their fans is mostly just to get those folks to shut up and confirm to everyone involved that this is crock.

The former has already confirmed that she's willing to give the idea a try as voted by her viewers, but I imagine that after one week is done with no change to viewership, the subject will be quietly dropped.
If they requesting those things accompanied with business insight, statistic, projection, & strategy, it would be worth to consider.

Why are companies listening to small but vocal minorities? When did it ever translate into more moni?
Because "The Customer Is Always Right" is still a thing (and before anyone refutes on how it's completely wrong, remember there are companies who get rightfully piled on for disregarding consumer complaints, like Blizzard's Diablo Immortal). And at a glance, it seems reasonable enough; why not have ID start talking more in the language they grew up with all their life? It's not as if they're asking the girls to declare trans rights. You have to peel back the details to realize that you are likely dealing with bad actors who wouldn't otherwise give your business the time of day, and therefore you need proof. They can be ignored freely afterwards.

From that reddit thread, the language issue is only part of the demands. They also want streams to be on a fixed weekly schedule like TV shows, starting (and possibly ending) at the same time each week, with the subjects for streams also sticking to a consistent schedule.

next they'll be asking for regular koran book readings and telenovel dramas. Never give an inch to these people because they will take a mile down the road. Rather, Cover and ID Management, and not the talent (though, this is entirely up to the talent tbh), needs to do some market research to see if its even worth pissing off their talents and part of the userbase to even implement these requirements

Question for those in the know: how doable would it be for Deluta to collab with gen5, not talking a game stream, more like a live 3D event.
Live 3D event probably ... never. Regular stuff is ok for sure. Remember, Deluta fold on her contract with Cover even though the fandom can protect her just fine like what happen to Towa.

Some might said it’s unfair for Delta but it’s how the world run. Nene right now can totally fill the void of the team vocalist left by her after that full on 3D idol concert debut she pulled.

Big fat summation post on reddit about that whole ID thing:

If Hololive truly listen to small vocal minority then Coco would already got fired and their Vtuber gig is over with prominent one like FBK quit.
They clearly choose money above all hence they axe the whole HoloCN branch.

Because it's a small but vocal minority in their target market

They already have HoloEN for the English viewers, they want more Indo viewers for the Indo branch

That's like saying why should a restaurant put up with Karens; you'd put up with anything if it means that Karen keeps bringing her son's soccer team to your place every weekend

@RiverBear ,@kadmckool ,@Pinot Pierrot more of a general statement but nonetheless:
what is their marketing team/research departments doing when time and time again company X listens to minorities' demands and right afterwards they get backlash from majority that was keeping silent till that point.
This is what's baffling to me.

Day 2, I am no longer amused by the "Hi, honey!" clips with exception to Haachama's and Gura's.
And nobody even got close to Suisui with how aspirated she said it.

Sister Claire's mainichi douga+ will be resuming from today on. It's daily short and simple inspirational video where she wishes you a good morning and gives you that extra encouragement you need to go about your day. This video cured my chronic illness, helped me get into university, won the lottery and got me a girlfriend.

I'm sorry, but can someone inform me how much of an impact is ID (country) to the cashflow of the company? I'd like to know why Hololive ID started in the first place
ID aint contribute much due
one SC is not available yet, they use streamlab,
even if they got big support from ID itself, the convertion either to JYP or USD are gonna make it look earn less than other
and last, yeah they might get a lotta VIEWER from ID but those big viewer 80% aint gonna gib tip or even buy merch

Take this with a pillar of salt, but the marketing teams were probably the ones responsible for telling the company suits that the minority demographic existed in the first place. They noticed an ongoing twitter trend about minority representation, or maybe a group of people suddenly paying attention to their brand that wasn't part of their original audience, and then report it to the higher-ups, who will likely see it as an untapped source of revenue (especially if they're confident that their own target audience won't leave while they shift focus). Then the marketing boys are told to cook up a way to appeal to them, hence the virtue-signaling.

As for the ensuing backlash that may or may not happen, who knows? Maybe the original audience does stay and you get a boost in numbers, which means job well accomplished. This is most apparent when the company is massive enough like Blizzard, McDonalds, or Nike that the existing people who buy their products just shrug and move on. Maybe the attempt will fall by the wayside, but virtue-signaling is cheap anyway, and it'll future-proof you from additional criticism by the minority in question (we all know this isn't actually the case, but we're trying to think like a business here). And even if you do receive bad press, maybe you'll luck out like the folks at Chick-fil-A, who actually rose up the ranks in fast-food companies as a result of their anti-gay CEO getting them in trouble.

ID's current scenario however is more akin to a Karen demanding to speak to the manager. Unfortunately, the latter would have to be 101% confident in their own position to tell the former to just go away.

Ah yes, if there's anything online entertainment needs it's to be more like traditional media /sneed

I'd say Coco has gotten the closest out of all of 'em. Ina's was the best outside of the ara-ara scale.

So I just finished watching Kizuna AI's latest concert. Here is my review.

Sometimes putting all your eggs in one basket pays off. Her tracking and model move so smoothly that I thought it was MMD for a while. Watching how her hair moved was so natural. Subtle body movements and on one of the songs the mouth tracking just stopped working show that it is actually MO cap. As usual, you can tell her dance and singing training pay off. She is a true idol IMO.

Cons: Heavy reliance on autotune for the first half, that might bother some people. Also only one set and no back up dancers like Hello World 2021. However as this is a mini concert it didn't really didn't bother me. Lots of other visual effects used as well. I liked it, others might not.

Her new outfit isn't flashy, but none of her outfits are. It's sporty and looks like someone her (models) age would wear. Looks good on her.

Then we have Nyanners, who was actually pretty good. Her solo song was toward the end, and was OK 7/10. Wondered if she could sing when I heard she was going to be part of the tour, but saw a clip of her being excited about it so was happy for her. She was really good in the next song, Hello good morning (biased favorite Kizuna Song) Same glitch appeared for her however, as in her solo her mouth was non existent for most of it.

Concert ended with AIAIAIA.

Over all, I'd say OG Kizuna still has it. Even if she loses the sub count to the shark she's still an icon and her future is bright.

I had a bit of trouble finding a torrent of it. First copy I found was on Lime torrent (not promoting or anything unsure of rules) I'd have payed the thirty bucks if I could download it, but it was a timed purchase. It's worth a watch IMO.

In the new saga of pathetic bugmen arc, Suisei was playing Apex with Matsuri since midnight until morning. Around 4 hours in, they notice that it's already morning so Suisei do Coco's "Okite Okite kudasai" impression. 5 mins later, the spam bot start. They have to be watching every Hololive member to see if Coco get mention. Talk about being a dedicated fan.
Anyway, Suisei do the same move as our dragon and mod several of 1+ year member, who proceed to nuke the bug men to smithereens. SSG Our Comet.

Edit: Some idiot superchat about HoloEN again to Coco last night, but with an interesting result. The SC say "HoloEN love to collab with you!", and Coco replied, "I know I know. They love me so much. They keep telling me that. So lovely." The EN girls already DM Coco and have a few talk I guess. Dammit, let them collab already!
